☆ P N D ☆ R E C O V E R Y ☆ Hello 🙋‍♀️ I haven't really properly introduced myself beyond a bit about my PND in March's 'Meet the Maker'. I'm Rachael, Mum to Niamh. We are a military family living in Wiltshire. I am a former primary teacher as I chose not to return to work due to my mental health, the impact of army deployments, and Covid. I wanted to be with Niamh full time, rather than place her in a nursery and I'd never expected to really feel that way. Having worked since the age of 16, becoming a stay at home Mum was a big step into the unknown. But with the world turned upside down due to the Pandemic, it seemed like the natural thing to do and what was best for our little family 💕 Since making that decision in November '20, 1 month after my husband returned from his 6 month tour which he left for only 4 weeks after Niamh was born, my husband has been away due to army responsibilities a total of 3 more times. Two of these times have been 1 month in duration 👀 I know that military spouses make this work with full time jobs and child care but it wasn't something I was prepared to do and I am fortunate to have such a supportive husband 💝 Well done if you have read this far, I appreciate it 🙏😌 This month marks my first off my Employment and Support Allowance (my salvation when leaving teaching due to ill health). I know people can be judgemental of the benefits system and those who use it, but I am so grateful to have been given the time, space and financial support to feel well again 🎀 I am now self employed with my own little business and although it is extreeeeeemely daunting, it is also liberating and so exciting!
