In August I lost my wonderful Grandfather, he was an overly eccentric man a person that you can never forget. When we began the (huge) job of cleaning out his home I found these badges from the Springbok 81" tour. These I will treasure and wear with pride.

This is my most recent personal project, sorry about the photo is was just taken on my phone, will replace this with a well lit one on my DSLR.
After making these I had a few requests by my friends for their walls. For the next collection collection I would like to like to implicate a different style of hand painting for each piece.
Although I like the organic feel of the hand painted piece above in the next collection I will experiment with using intricate stencils as well and perhaps a slightly more limited colour palette to suit the surroundings/interior it will be applied in.
The real difficulty was getting the was pinning the individual drift wood onto the wall without creating seven holes. After deliberation the pieces of wood were pinned between two holes and wire holds up the remaining wood. The wire was then (time sakingly) wrapped in white cotton.

This week I have been frantically researching for inspiration on the beginnings of my next project/s. Working long hours makes it a little more difficult to kick start things but I intend to start a few explorations... with typography, photography and hand painting. I have found a sudden lust for hand written type and intend to create my own serif font which is carefully catered to the dimensions of the text. I will keep posting my progress on here as I feel the journey of creation is just as important as the final result.
