@corflore - Invi
“Don’t you find all this struggle meaningless? Isn’t it tiring to keep declaring the Light is the more powerful force? It’s fragile and weak, always slipping into darkness. All it takes for a heart to succumb to darkness is the slightest hint of doubt, pain, anger, and sorrow.. Humans are pitiful creatures as well and it’s all because they believe in that candy coated lie about the Light. Even worse is that the fate of all of it rests on the shoulders of mere children and fools.”

Do you remember Seles at all? What would she say about you now if she saw you?
Who was this person and why were they spouting such nonsense at him? Was this some sort of attempt to guilt him by using some woman’s name? How utterly pathetic and he was going to inform them as such! “Why would I care about the opinion of some lowly human? I don’t even know a Seles!” Just as that name was spoken, it sounded somewhat familiar for some off reason.
Suddenly a very distant memory flashed through Akito’s mind for just a moment. The sounds of battle surrounding him but also sounding far away at the same time. A heavily blurred figure was in his arms, fading away.. Then he heard a loud cry of pain before he forced the images to cease and vanish from his mind once again. “Whoever you are... Never speak that name around me again or I’ll throw your heart to the Shadows!”

This human sure had a sharp tongue on him didn’t he? Granted, Akito was also guilty of saying sharp and hurtful things to others as well but he felt he was allowed to do so. The man looked the other over, taking note of the unique attire he wore. Must’be been what the people around here called a priest or something of the like. Perhaps someone of such standing could provide some valuable information..
“A carefree life? I suppose I do have that but perhaps you are a bit hard of hearing.” Akito paused to gesture at the people fleeing the area in a panic, hiding his grin under a small smile. “I was sitting here, minding my own business, when everyone started screaming about a vampire.. To me, that is the very idea of silly. They all rushed off like a frightened flock of sheep, all of them reacting because one person decided to yell.”
Mister Akito:
“Indeed they are. People certainly get swept up in a frenzy over the silliest things don’t they?” Akito didn’t even do anything besides yawn in this blasted city. Was this world far more wary of sharpened canines than usual? For a place that seemed advanced, they sure seemed stuck on medieval fears. All he wanted was to sit and observe them up close instead of hiding in the shadows. Hopefully the man before him was unaware of the fact that he was somewhat responsible for the current chaos. Dropping his innocent guise would certainly be a pain since he had hoped to be able to scope out this world without.. complications.
❝If that is your perspective upon the matter, then so be it. However, I believe that it is not silly. I am sure that they have many logical reasons as to be rushing around in such a manner.❞
He was actually one of those people who often rushed around after god knows what. He had people to care for, students to teach, and clergyman duties to tend to. There were not enough hours in the day for this man! Either way, he lived his life to the fullest whenever he could, and this wasn’t going to change anytime soon.
❝It must be rather relaxing to be able to live your life so carefree as you must do, given on your attitude towards people rushing around.❞

... would you be restored as a person if you get whacked enough with a keyblade and your nobody's destroyed?
“What illness has made you believe that I want something like that? In fact, you must be insane to think for one moment I would even confirm your assumptions. First of all, I don’t even know where my Nobody is but likely far away. Second, as if I would let some brats hit me with a Keyblade at all!”

It was easier to bait this man than he thought. Akito thought he would have to do a little more nudging but all he wanted was to know his name next? Humans never ceased to be amusing as a whole but he did hate pretending to be one sometimes. The calm smile never left his face as he listened to Lupin finish his demands, using typical slang terms that he’s heard since being on this world. “My apologies, I should’ve led with my name. I am Akito.. I am a mere thief like yourself but I believe I am far better.” Of course the things he stole were far different from what Lupin generally sought. The blue suited man didn’t need to know the dark side to his ‘profession’, just the front he was presenting to get him to play along. “Certainly you have a target in mind by now yes? If not, I can surely pick one that will suit your fancy.”
inperatum.
@thievinggentleman [x]
This one was rather cocky and didn’t hesitate to proclaim his superiority in the ways of thieving. A smirk worked its way onto Akito’s lips as he stepped out of the shadows. Already he could feel that this was going to be a lot of fun, putting this man to the test. Though, not that Lupin would know it, the part he most looked forward was breaking him in the end. People like the one before him always provided the best reactions when pushed to their limits and weak spots discovered.
“It seems you are indeed the one I have heard about.. Today must be my lucky day.” Luck, such a human thing to rely upon. Luck had nothing to do with Akito’s ability in finding Lupin, not in the least. A smile that he had worn thousands of times before came to his face, a perfect mask to hide the cruel intents he had. Best way to get the lesser beings to go along with his plans was to behave in a way that didn’t scream danger and deceit. Some humans were like deer, liable to flee at the slightest hint of danger. Though he doubted Lupin was the type but one could never be too careful with prey. “I’ll not waste too much time.. I have a proposition for you, Lupin. Prove to me that you are indeed the best thief in this world. You wear that title of yours proudly but it is high time to wager it. What say you that we have a race of sorts?”
This had his interests piqued. A race? To see who was the better thief? Man, they sure knew how to tickle his fancy for a challenge. If it was all in the name of proving he was the best, how in the world was he supposed to resist?
Lupin turned around, his never-ending smirk still present on his monkeyish mug. He took a few steps over to Akito, winking one eye shut. “You got some cojones askin’ for a thing like that without even introducing yourself, y’know.”
Lupin stood straighter, hands deep in his pockets. “If you wanna challenge me to a race, bub, you gotta at least tell me who I’m up against!”

“You may fool the children, but you can’t fool me. You don’t know your dorsal fin from your tail!” -- angry Neptune protecting tiny sea people from the strange offworlder!
Akito hated playing with children but it was a necessary ploy in order to explore this underwater city without hindrance. Though it seemed perhaps his seafolk disguise wasn’t fooling a local sea witch. Just looking at him reminded the Heartless of a certain woman he would never care to see again. So to deal with a similar creature was aggravating indeed. “I have no idea what it is you’re talking about. If you ask me.. the people seem far more wary of you than me.”

“You think quite highly of yourself or you’re just stupid..” Akito’s chuckles ceased as he took another step forward, the smirk not leaving his face. The aura, the air, about him seemed to change since Roxas dared to demand he back down. “I should back down? Me? A being that is far superior to you and that sniveling child behind you?” Did they have no idea as to what he was? This was a great insult and it could not be overlooked, not for a second. It was time Roxas learned just how ‘worthy’ Akito viewed his life.
“I don’t care what you think, you idiotic husk! You have no worth to speak of what-so-ever and yet you dare to tell me to back down!? Whatever fragment of ‘life’ you have, I will send you back to the darkness myself! You can’t beat me, Boy!!” Akito rose a hand and snapped his fingers, casting Firaga at Roxas. It was a test to see his reflexes, to catch a glimpse of what he was dealing with.
@inperatum II Continued from here
“You say that like I’m supposed to care what you think or say about me!” Roxas’s voice lowered into a dangerous tone. Technically, he was a fragment of the real Roxas, nothing more, not even a complete nobody.
He was even worse than what was being said.
But as long as Roxas could defend Sora, he didn’t care about any of that. “Look, just back down. I will defend him with my life, regardless of how worthy you think it is.”

Roxas stands in front of Sora, oblivion and oathkeeper in hand and growls. "Stay away from Sora!"
Akito couldn’t help but grin as he looked at Roxas, standing between him and the rattled boy. A dark, deep chuckle escaped the Heartless at the sight since it was outright humorous to him and it soon turned into straight out laughter. Of course this might have made him look insane but he was honestly sane. “Now this is rich indeed.. I can tell just by looking that you are a Nobody and yet you hold those Keyblades in your very hands. Why are you standing in my way, Husk? The only thing you are accomplishing is being a hypocrite..”

Seeing Sora take a step coaxed the man into taking one after him, just in case the boy decided to flee. Akito had to rein himself in, preventing a wide grin from coming to his face. Hearing Sora admit he had tried ‘everything’ and then ask what he could do instead.. Well that was what the Heartless was hoping to hear. The Keyblade wielder had taken his first step into the web woven to ensnare him, so to speak. All Akito needed to do was keep baiting him, make him desperate for the solution to his problem and feel that there is no other way. Sure, any lesser creature would’ve tried to steal his heart by now but the ma had other plans.
“Your best friend you say? And.. where is he now? You are in such a frail state, not being used to being sightless but are all alone.” Akito took another step forward as he tried to sow some seeds of doubt. If anyone were watching this little encounter, he needed something to still put the odds in his favor. “You only think you’ve tried everything and I don’t exactly see any of your friends about.. So I am here to give you what you desire most. Your sight. Your ability to be helpful again. To erase your status of a burden.. All I ask is that you trust me~.”
inperatum:
@miraclemuses [x] - Sora
Clever little brat, in one way at least. Not confirming his suspicions or asking who spread the ‘rumor’ was unexpected. Though this merely made this encounter all the more entertaining to Akito. He had to remain as ‘friendly’ sounding as he took a step towards Sora, allowing a small chuckle to sound. “Someone that just might become a friend.. Also that little tidbit about a rumor was a lie, as much as it hurts to admit. It’s just that your blindfold is a rather clear hint towards your.. condition.”
Anyone with common sense could see that people wouldn’t normally cover their functioning eyes since it would hinder their visibility. So seeing that black cloth meant that he wasn’t relying on his own sight. “I can help you with that little problem, you know.. Surely you must be tired of being useless in this state correct?”
Sora felt a chill run down his spine, jaw clenching slightly in reaction. It was as if ice had traveled through the air between them and was slowly working over his skin. It was an unsettling feeling that seemed to shake his heart.
“My best friend wore a blindfold for a long time, he’s able to see very well. This means nothing.”
Even though he said that, he takes an unsteady step back. Damn it all. Where were his Spirits? At least they could see and could potentially warn him against a dangerous person. Though- The mentioning of aid to his handicap followed by such a painful reminder… It brought a sense of helplessness to the brunet.
“I’ve tried everything.. What can you do that I haven’t?”

“You want to leave already? We had just become acquainted you and I..” What was it with humans and their belief that they could simply walk away from problems like these? It never ceased to baffle Akito, to see this side of people when they were face to face with something dangerous. In the past he had seen some even sacrifice someone else to save their own hide. Strange how he was labeled the monster when they were capable of being the very thing they fear so much. Though the Heartless had no problem with admitting he was a monster for that was what he was. A being with no beating heart that fed on that very missing piece, just that he got them from others.
“And I’m afraid you don’t have a choice in the matter. Once I find an interesting human, like yourself, I like to play with them until they are no longer entertaining. Then they are only good for food.. Unless you give me a reason why I should pick someone else.” Time to see if Zapp be just the same and offer up someone else to be the victim instead. Though there was the possibility he would be the obnoxious ‘hero’ type and either try to selflessly sacrifice himself or try to fight him instead. Those always got on his nerve every time..
CREEPY MOTHERFUCKER.
The paling complexion, the nervous tone to his voice, the hint of fear in the eyes.. This was what Akito lived for, scaring the lesser beings down to their core. He couldn’t hold back the twisted smirk that came to his lips, this was just too good. Who would’ve guessed he would find a toy to play with this soon? Little did Zapp know that he wasn’t going to walk away from this so easily, not when the Heartless had set his sights upon him. The man took a few steps towards Zapp before it seemed like he vanished into the darkness without a trace..

“Don’t tell me you seriously thought that would work..” Akito hissed as he appeared behind the unfortunate man. A dark chuckle passed his lips as he stepped to the side, smirking at him. Normally the Heartless would do away with witnesses but it became painfully clear that his kind hadn’t reached this far. So even if Zapp went to tell people about what he saw, who would believe him? “You have nothing to hold over me since I am not from here, you see.. Though you should feel lucky, Boy. I decided not to kill you since I have a feeling you’ll prove to be entertaining.” A hand ran through his black hair as he circled around Zapp, much like a predator does to ensure the prey doesn’t flee. He merely didn’t want him take off before he was done speaking, to run now would just be rude. “This world intrigues me. I believe I’ll stay here a while and have a look around. Though I do wonder what you’ll do after I let you go.. Will you go into hiding like a terrified rat or will you try to do something about my presence?”

❝I told ya already, though — I’m movin’ right along.❞ God forbid if he lets himself die in a craphole like this; without a paycheck, no less! He may have lived a life that was about as reckless as his very nature, but even people like Zapp have aspirations in life; to not die like a bum, or have his heart bein’ used for someone’s dinner. There’s only ONE thing on this man’s mind, and that’s gettin’ the hell outta here.
❝I got too many people to see to start hidin’, and I don’t got time to be your sideshow. Just let me leave, alright?❞ The whole ’wife and kid’ card might’ve worked to his advantage here, too — but he doesn’t want this fucker to get any additional ideas on how to torment him any further. Emily ( who wasn’t actually his wife ), and Peanut ( who was, uh… still cooking ), didn’t need to get involved WHATSOEVER.
