DATV spoilers beneath the cut but more in that I am aghast at someone's proposed "fix" to part of the endgame plot. Not tagging because it's also somewhat salt/vague blogging.

I just saw someone in the tags say whichever mage companion gets captured by Elgar'nan should have become a Brood Mother. They proposed this as part of a scheme to make Veilguard "have consequences".

I cannot describe how hard I physically recoiled upon reading this.

I mean, that doesn't even make sense given that these Darkspawn are quite literally not the same as in a traditional blight. They don't need a mechanism to make more Darkspawn. Ghilan'nain is quite literally a flesh-crafting god with the Blight at her command.

But beyond that, I can barely handle DAO's Broodmother which happens to an unfamiliar NPC in low res. I avoid that encounter for as long as I possibly can and then speed through it and try to put it out of my brain.

The suggestion that it would have been a good thing to do to a companion you've grown to cherish and in modern HD...

I honestly would have quit Veilguard then and never come back.

There's a level of sexual violence to the whole idea of Broodmothers that I just personally cannot deal with. And the idea of bringing that back in the modern era is genuinely upsetting; I don't fucking care if someone thinks the game "isn't dark enough".

Look the Neve and Lucanis romance is fine, cute even at times. But the Neve and Rook romance is a category 5 event.

She is constantly on the verge of tears, clenching her fist, gripping the furniture, almost throwing up, because she cannot cope with how madly and deeply she has fallen for this fucking idiot.

Honestly its amazing everyone should experince being Trouble.

Insane that people are calling Neve's voice acting bad. She will say things like 'The shlorpledorp. Sneaky little creature. Tracked a nest of them running a stolen mitten smuggling ring once.' with a completely nonplussed tone. Unique woman in all of Thedas who is surprised by nothing but true love. Not everyone can pull that off.

neve gallus really is the DA romance of all time for me and i understand why the cullen girlies are Like That now. she's a jaded cynic, she's introduced having a smoke in front of a corpse she stabbed in the back, she claims to live off fried fish when it is clearly grilled fish, she hangs out with transgender people wanted for political crimes in a basement, she's afraid of emotional intimacy, she sounds like she's going to both cry and throw up when she says 'i love you', she wears cunty little hats, she's canonically into short kings, she likes cats, and she's even bisexual
