so while I do agree the Hannibal fandom is the least toxic fandom I’ve been in, there’s still issues (all fandoms do have them ) but this issue is about how most of the fandom is Sexist/ hatful towards the woman of Hannibal.

I see a lot of criticism towards Alana for example about how she “acts to not be like other girls “ or she very pick me” all because she drank a beer. Like babes if Hannibal was painting his nails and drinking a pina calanda y’all wouldn’t be saying “ Hannibal doesn’t act like that” or “it’s so out of character “ no you would be like “ oh my god so iconic of him “ or something like that.

even more vital, you gotta be able to say words like "rape", "abuse", "queer" or "racist". cause we fought fucking hard to name those experiences. to identify "rape" as distinct from "sex" and "racism" as distinct from "acceptable behaviour" and "queer" as distinct from "invert"

like the function of communication is not to minimise immediate discomfort. we gotta be able to talk about stuff that's hard or sucks or causes difficult conversations.
