   Renesmee was rather an adorable child. Benjamin had never been too sure of how to react with younger vampires. It was just natural when he had been brought up to believe that they were wrong. Benjamin sat close to Tia -- a small smile on his face as his mate spoke softly. She was a wonderful woman, but for some reason, there was just nothing that could even attract them together. She was far too quiet for his own good, and Benjamin, as a free spirit, didn’t see it all that fit that they had been thrown together. He’d mostly done it to have some freedom from Amun, and Amun appreciated Tia -- therefore keeping it off of his back.

   This battle was going to be far too complicated. Benjamin didn’t trust himself with his powers and everything else that came with it. When the obnoxious smell of the Dogs hit his nose, Benjamin allowed a slight crinkle to appear on his face. He hadn’t been near werewolves in such a long time -- having been kept away from most of normal civilisation. The smell wasn’t that bad, but it was obviously painful. He probably wouldn’t get used to it anytime soon, but he had to deal with it.

   At the sight of the wolf woman looking in his direction, Benjamin gave a small smile, and lowered his head -- although the gaze was heavily uncomfortable, he still allowed something of a smile to appear on his face “I could take you up. I would like some private time to myself.” Benjamin is standing, giving a small smile in Leah’s direction and making his way over towards the door. Tia went to stand, but Benjamin’s hand raised. Amun was never too fond of how Benjamin and Tia acted, but he’d at least attempt to be helpful. “It is Leah, isn’t it?”

  There was nothing Leah hated more than the stench of vampires in the house near her resting place. Sleeping through the early morning gave her time between patrols to be sure that Sam and his pack was sleeping as well. Of course, waking up at high noon and smelling nothing but leech was enough to set her teeth on edge. Six days as a wolf. Six days in this giant, irritating body. She needed new clothes. And a shower. All the clothes left for her to change into reeked. If she set foot back on the rez, she’d be murdered. Desire for cleanliness trumped a death wish. She shifted back and changed into the dress the vampire had left for her. Taking a deep breath, clenching her fists tight, she stepped inside the house.

  They were all piled in one room, with the window open behind them, but the smell was all over the house. Leah could have gagged, easily thrown up all over the Cullen’s nice carpet. It was a sickly sweet smell, like too many flowers in one room. And, if those flowers were parasites, her analogy was solid. Walking in where the leeches stood, she noticed the sudden swivel of many pairs of red eyes — just a few gold — staring her down. Not looking any of them dead on, she located the red hair of Edward and cleared her throat. “Do you bloodsuckers have a hot shower?” She heard some of the vampires make some sort of shocked or offended noise, but Edward just laughed and pointed up the stairs. “Last door on the right.”

  Nodding curtly, Leah glanced at the group. Locking her dark eyes to a pair of red one’s, she suddenly felt the wind knocked out of her lungs. It didn’t matter that there was a room of leeches watching her. It didn’t matter that she’d just insulted them and was know standing here, watching some bloodsucker like he was the world’s next big thing. She tried to breath, to turn away from him, but there was nothing to be done. She could have fallen to her knees. She felt like she would.

There was something that seemed to shut off her wits and snark-like remarks. Half of it was that he would take it as a compliment, or would find some type of constructive criticism in it.

        He wore copper skin, and if she weren’t a shifter, he would have been easily mistaken for one of her own.
