Ngl this ask blog was the one that inspired me to want to make my own. I haven't decided what it'll be about, but out of the few ones I avidly read, this one in particular gave me the motivation to want to create one. Thank you <33
Ohh!!! Good luck on it!! Ask blogs are very fun even if a lot of work!

i just wanted to thank you for creating this story. This blog was one of - probably the first Hermitcraft based ones I'd seen, and I'm so glad it was. I think it was when the hiatus just started, or very close to it, but I read through the blog in a day and fell in love with the story. Of course, I'm sad to see it end but that's life! I can't thank you enough for everything you've done, and I can't wait to see what comes next (when it does - don't overwhelm/overwork yourself!) <333
I hope this makes sense hsjabakons
Thank you so much for enjoying my story <3

And they all went and got therapy! They are all so cute, and I love the lil peek at the iskalls in the walls and elytra Grian! Thank you so much for this <3
And they all lived (mostly) happily ever after! <3
@infinityroom thank you so much for creating such an incredible world! I’ve loved getting to participate and come up with my own theories, and getting to see your amazing art in each update was awesome <3 (I’m going to miss these little guys so much haha!)

Thank you so much for the story! I thought it was amazing, I even send a few asks I think! I have liked and reblogged afew on my mc sideblog lol
I love that you are answering ehat would happened in the atory makes it feel more finished. I personally think that they all would have escaped to an earlier hermitcraft world and healed there all together. That would have made a peaceful ending I think.
Thank you so much for everything and good luck on your next adventures!
Thank you so much! :D

Never have I ever been so invested in a story, I'm so glad I've stumbled upon it and interacted with it in the time it was actively told! One of the brightest memories, that's for sure. It pushed me to be active for once, and then inspired me to start a Call of Cthulhu campaign to actually tell my friends about my own world I've been brewing in the meantime. Maybe one day I'll overcome the struggles in writing down ideas for that very same world because I've had (in the end) positive experience with writing down my little theories for this au, who knows... One of the things that got me impressed was your ability to keep each and every one of the characters distinctly themselves. It felt so organic. I still wonder - is that your natural talent, an acquired one or did the hermits grew on you so much their personalities became second nature for you? Or was it just a lot of behind-the-scenes work to make sure it was the case?
I hope you manage to write your story too!! I know it's complicated and can be very hard, but it's so worth it :)
And I think having been deep into mcyt brainrot since Minecraft Evo helped a bit in how I write Grian in particular, I can never tell about everyone else ahah

if you're still taking questions, i'd love to know which of impulse's wither heads was going to have which of the personalities you described?
The head on Impulse's left, the one with no eyes, was gonna be the one interested in hurting others, the more witherlike of the heads. The one on his right, the one with sharp teeth, was gonna be the one interested in Impulse's and their own survival.
The heads look like that because I wanted them to seem more like skulls, just a little. And their personality were chosen because of two sayings. "what the eye doesn't see the heart doesn't grieve over" The eyeless head doesn't see the people around them or the pain it causes, so it feels no remorse over it. "all bark and no bite" The head with sharp teeth doesn't use em, its just scared, it will do no arm.

i first read IR back in 2022, i was completely obsessed with it, it meant a lot to me. i remember how much fun it was to participate in, i have notes in my journal about how excited i was that there was a new update. i learned to read Galactic, which i had no experience with. i remember how big a deal the Iskalls' survey was, in particular. and then i just.. stopped keeping up, i couldn't say why.
about three days ago i started rereading it, i had been thinking about it every now and then over the years and about how much i loved it, it's one of my top three examples for how amazing transformative art and unusual storytelling mediums can be. i just caught up, i found i can still read Galactic. i still love this story, these characters, and while i was briefly distressed by your announcement that it's over, reading the plans and explanations of how things would have gone gave me a real sense of catharsis. thank you for, even if hypothetically, giving them a soft ending.
thank you in general, for making The Infinity Room. for making something that meant so much to me and to others, for letting us be a part of it. i hope your future endeavours treat you well.
Thank you so much for caring about my story so much! It warms my heart, truly!

Im so happy I was able to interact with this story in its prime
Im glad you can work on what you want even if moving on sucks
I find it very funny that your intended end would have been somewhat soft/happy if the asks didn't go to terrible places. I personally thought this story wouldn't have ended well a n intended tragedy. Reading about these silly guys makes me so happy that even though we won't see where this went we can still learn about the story.
My one question is how much would the banner have changed through the story ? I realize this would change drastically depending on what the asks did but still one can imagine
I'm too soft to end things in tragedies most of the time, you can assume that with all of my stories!
The banner was gonna change based on landmarks discovered in the room, the next change was going to be the cemetery appearing, then the door to the "wall" when that had been reached. At the end of the story, the banner would have changed completely, depending on where the characters ended up. In the best version, it would have become a scene of the overworld, completely getting out of the room.

just wanted to say this is genuinely one of the coolest askblogs ive seen - and i like to consider myself an askblog connoisseur. the way you incorporated hidden messages and multi-media stuff is so cool in a way i have literally never seen an askblog do/attempt before and it's super inspiring. the concept and storyline and everything are super cool, your attention to detail is unreal, and just generally i hope you're very proud of all of it, cause it was a total blast <3
Aaaaa! Thank you so much! this was technically my third ask blog, maybe one day there will be a 4th one and be even better, who knows ahah

THANK YOU SM!!!!!! you’ve made such an interesting story to continue to read through and watching updates and reading comments that decoded and the interaction with the viewers god it was so so so cool!! The storyline in itself had me absolutely taken because it really isn’t something that is talked about OR drawn and i absolutely love the connection you’ve made between them(the infinity rooms) all to make a story like this and wow was it so so cool, i’d read it during the school year and it really just made things better 😭🙏 Also the different form of hidden messages OMG having to switch my acc to light mode to read through the whole thing was an experience 😭 /pos
ive ranted (screaming abt updates/and just loving the idea really) a fair bit about this au on my priv twt just loving the story you’ve made because it really was so so sick, love it lots and i hope that your personal project and job continue to go smoothly!!! <33
Thank you so much!!! I'm glad you had fun, I had fun too!! I really enjoy hiding messages and stuff xD

Based on that last ask about keeping the redstone quiet at first, I bet Tango would love the sculk! Maybe not the shriekers, but the fact that it's so sensitive to sound, and the gently sparkling darkness is the total opposite of the white void... maybe?
That sounds niceee, he might like that!
Also, I feel the hermits who leave the infinity room would do quite well in the End. It's quiet, it's vast but still has landmarks, and its not bright.
It would be nice to build a small community on an End island for a while.

This was one of the first pages I set notifications for, so I'm sure I don't need to say how much I'll miss it.
But I just have to remember, don't cry cause it's over, smile because it happened and you made plenty to smile about. So thank you and I'm sure your current project will be just as if not better.
Though I do have an actual question and not just praise for your work. How did the various duplicate characters(such as the Iskalls) deal with their duplicates when they met them. Like that had to be a weird experience (plus from a different ask it seems part of why Tango is... like that is from realizing he's a copy and the existentialism of that)
Speaking of Tango, how did he get back? Did he make an infinity room or was there one I don't remember from that season?
It was weird, but meeting in the room and needing help was good in keeping the existential dread at bay. With the iskalls, after the other ones got killed it surely felt like they could only trust themselves to keep each other safe. Other than them there weren't many copies that got to meet each other, probably some Grians did but none plot relevant. If Main Grian and Elytra Grian got to meet each other the issue would have been more on the fact that Elytra Grian was NOT gonna trust anyone.
It wasn't the duplicate per se that messed up Tango, it was the entire situation. If he had met a copy of himself in the room he would have handled it better, being stuck in the same situation and all. But in how it happened he was suddenly hit with the knowledge that he was not the original tango, and specifically that he couldn't do the things Tango does.
And Tango got back the same way he got out, at some point being an endermite let him do that. I liked the theory that normal endermites usually live in a in-between space/dimension the endermen use when teleporting around. The way out was being a full-on endermite and accessing that space to get out. The endermites in the room have no reason to leave since they adapted to live in it. False in the story was really close to being able to leave herself! She was just too messed up to realize.

I like to think, eventually they encourage Tango to leave the room. They build him a place to live out of white concrete—not as bright as the infinity room, not endless, but familiar enough to be a good stepping stone. They bring him things from outside the house to help him slowly adjust; grass blocks to run his fingers through, foods he missed having, bits and pieces he can slowly explore at his own pace. Eventually they bring him redstone things too; first only stuff that is silent and not too bright, like dust. Then something relatively quiet, like a single repeater, and it takes him a while to work ip the courage to flick it back and forth, but the familiarity is nice. They make sure that even if someone isn’t actively in Tango’s home, he can message them, so he never has to feel alone again. Eventually, Tango is ready to sit in the house with the door open. Its a while longer after that before he’s ready to fully go outside, but when he does, his friends make him noise-cancelling headphones, and tinted-glass sunglasses (he may have lost a lot of sight already, but its good to have eye protection.) He has to take lots of breaks to decompress. Even long after everything is over, he still gets overwhelmed by the outside world some times. But he gets to see the sky again. Go on dumb adventures with his friends again. And one day, he finds he even can bring himself to do redstone again (albeit with a sturdy pair of headphones to keep the sound level more manageable)
Bit by bit, month by month, Tango learns to live again.
I am holding this ask dearly.
I really like this, it's hopeful.

In a previous ask you mentioned that Tango got out, saw himself in Decked Out then went back in. But given the rules of how it seems to work, wouldn't there still be a copy in the overworld? Or does his endermitness change the rules in that regard?
No, there wouldn't be a copy in the overworld because the copies are made when leaving the room, not before entering it. But besides, the room wouldn't make a copy of a copy.

I just wanna come on here and say a big THANK YOU for making this story when you did. I was in the middle of a stressful time when I discovered this blog, and the awesome drawings and secret messages and our influence towards the characters in the story was such a great thing to look forward to for me. thank you for making this! i loved it while it lasted, and the concept and what has now been revealed is very cool
hold them close...
Thank you for following this story while it lasted! There are many bits of info i probably didn't say, there were just many ideas and they all don't come to me at once when explaining.
One fun thing I wanna explain tho, it's the endermite names! Tango named all of them as i said and there's a LOT of them so some of them ended up being named random things because there's just so many names one can come up with on the spot. Thats the in universe explanation for the names, but when i picked the names for the 3 main bugs i had a reason. We got "Missy" which was inspired by Miss T, because this mite is Tango's main one, it's a friend he needs and its always on his side, its someone he relies on (for his sight that got messed up after going out and then back in the room) so Missy is a friend. Mumbo has "Yellow", which was just meant to be named about things Tango misses, like colors outside and like Mumbo's friendship. Something he remembers and wants but can't have within the room. Then there's "Cassiopea" , a constellation. It's a reference to astronaut Tango in season 8, its something that should have been part of Tango but he missed entirely because of the room, its possibilities nullified. Even if the astronaut plot line was pretty hopeless it was not as hopeless as this.
