So, Alejandro Reina (Lucas) released these tweets today, in remembrance of his friend Joana, who commited suicide this day last year, and I think I should translate this so you can all read how Skam is more than a show or a program, and how everything they do is really important and necessary. Crosstaging because this is not exclusively about Skam España, but about all of the Skam universe.

“Today a year ago a friend of mine, Joana, took her own life. Joana was life, I swear whenever you’d look at her it was impossible not to fall in love with her, she was a being of light. Today, apart from remembering her with all my heart just as every day, I wanted to talk about a situation I came across half a year after what happened. Fuck I swear it’s killing me typing this out. When they started preparing the second season of Skam España, there was a meeting in which they told us what would be the name of Cris’ love interest, Joana. Since then this show started to develop in me really heavy feelings… Not only Skam España had had a lot of really big similarities with my life, but that it was gonna create a character that was gonna have a lot in common with Joana. Joana had the same MI and she was also bisexual, and I honestly swear that nobody in the team or in the writers knew this, and when I found out about it my heart stopped. It was like a part of her spoke to them. With all of this, I just wanna say that I’m in love with the visibility Skam España gave to people with BPD, and not only them, but every person with a mental illness. I’m really proud of the representation it has had, and I’m sure Joana would be too”.

This is Paruru’s last…participation.

For AKB48 Shimazaki Haruka, her obstinacy towards the senbatsu general election just begins. While her appearances in such as dramas and movies increased, she also experienced burnt foot and asthma. Even so, for the sake of reviving the group, Niigata and Japan, Paruru chose to run for the general election saying, “This will be my last time”.

After much consideration, she submitted her candidacy with tears.

After thinking and thinking, she decided to run for the general election. “I thought a lot. And in the end, I submitted my candidacy paper while crying”. When she was asked about what made her decide to run, after 5 seconds of silence, she murmured, “Obstinacy”. Last year, there’s a period of time when she couldn’t conduct her activities fully due to the burnt foot as well as asthma. People around Shimazaki also expressed their concerns about this. But, a certain words set her heart on fire. “A great person told me, “It’s okay if you don’t have to run (for the general election)”. And I thought, “Well then, I’ll run!”. I’m simply just stubborn,” she laughed.

Her career as an actress

Her first lead role movie “Gekijourei” was released in November last year. Currently, she is appearing in “Yutori Desu ga Nani ka”. She is enriching her career as an actress. “Thinking about the future, this general election will be my last one,” she frankly said. For her target ranking, “I’m leaving it up to all the fans,” she said. Now as she decided to run, looking at the general election in a wider view, the vote counting event will be held in Niigata for the first time, “I think it’s a great idea since it will spark people’s interest in Niigata. Because, isn’t AKB48 a national idol group?” she smiled. “To be called as the national idol group, AKB48 has to move Japan. If by my participation in the general election can sparks people’s interest (in Japan) even just for a little bit, that would be nice”. As the leading member of the “national idol group”, we can vaguely see her obstinacy and pride among the exhausted smiles.
