In-Ho manipulating Gi-Hun in season 2.
Hi guys, these are all the moments In-Ho manipulated Gi Hun in season 2 bc this man is psycologically abusive
Tumblr media
We must remember that a part of Gi-Hun's trauma and the more relevant in this is that he feels guilty for the deads he feels he ''caused''
In-Ho knows this ofc and uses it at his advantage
In the 4th episode of season 2, In Ho asks Gi Hun for help bc of the fact that Gi Hun is a previous winner.
This could be a natural reaction of a scared player who believes that winning this games is possible and that Gi Hun can help them out.
He says that the fact that Gi Hun did his whole show ( i played this games before) was what convinced him to stay, subtly shifting the the blame for the future deaths on Gi Hun.
This also serves to the purpose of showing Gi Hun that his actions are not only useless, but are also counter-productive to his own goals (ending the games)
But In Ho ask specifically for the next game, and this could also seem natural (but it's done on purpose) and there is a wast crowd of people who all relied on Gi Hun's answer and when things go wrong, the players blame Gi Hun.
And we see later that Gi Hun's dream abt the triangle being impossible and the people blaming him, which are great proof of his trauma.
When In Ho goes to talk to Gi Hun in the space between the first two games. We knew that In Ho's wife's story (except for the timing) is real and the reason he joined the games in 2015.
We can also says that the association that In Ho says that his life job fired him, we can associate it or with the truth (being a detective was his life job before the games) we can also say that he tried to inspire empathy bc Gi Hun was also fired to his life job (the whole company strike thing that gave him flashbacks in season 1) and In Ho knows this bc we know that the informations of the players are in possess of the head of the games ( we know this from Glass Bridge when player 017 is revealed to have been a glass maker for a decade by the files)
When choosing the games of the second game In Ho leaves to Gi-Hun freedom of choice. And when In Ho starts failing ( on purpose) transfer responsibility onto Gi Hun.
When Gi Hun and Jung Bae were doing watches on ep 5, we see Gi Hun laugh again since season 1. And In Ho is awake too.
Some sistems use killing relatives and friends as a ''punishment'' against those who rebel against them.
An example is the Stalinist era in the URSS, when Stalin would arrest the wifes of this collaborators (and sometimes kill them) to ensure their loyality. And always in the Stalinist regime, if you ''betrayed'' the regime, your whole family was killed.
So In Ho undestands that for breaking Gi Hun completely he has to get ready of Jung Bae.
So you may ask: Why saving Jung Bae in Mingle if the goal was to kill him anyway?
Because i think In Ho thought it was too soon, and this would return ''useful'' to him when he kills Jung Bae at the end of the rebellion.
In Ho said:'' You rebeled against the sistem, and now your 2 best friends (Jung Bae and Young Il) are dead not because of the games, but because of you.
Because of your actions.
He killed Gi Hun emotionally bc he understood that killing him physically wasn't enough. He could've become a martyr for the X team (very unlikely scenario but anyway) and caused way more problems.
Instead they had him become the shell of himself.
In Ho destroyed his team (killing Jung Bae and Young Il, having Dae Ho blamed) and deprived him on his very reasons to go with his mission.

when Gi-Hun meets Il-Nam for the first time in season 1, Gi Hun says to him:'' You are first and I'm the last'' (not the exact line).
Il-Nam created the games, so was ''the first''
Gi Hun was the last player to die in the games (at least the Korean ones)

Introduction
Hi guys my name is Kolya and I'm new to the squid game fandom.
I will do character analysis and maybe some headcanons.
If you disagree please message me so you can explain me your point.
My interpretation are how I see things, and please remember to be respectuful.
Anyway, this is the list of my favorite characters!
10: Min-su (125) He represents how normal people behave in that crisis, loved his drugs arc and his revenge on Nam gyu (124) 9: Cho Sang Woo (218) Very smart character, figured out Dalgona and was the reason the team survived in Tug Of War. Hated his individualism but it's realistic 8: Geum Ja (149) Loved her relationship with her son, a more complex character than most people believe her to be. Cried when she had to kill her baby and then herself 7: Park Jun-bae (399) He was the comic relief in Gi Huns team. Made his friend laugh again, a bit not trustable with the vote, he always switched. Loved his relationship with Dae ho, his death shattered me. 6: Ali Abdul (199) Again, my shayla. One of my fav in season 1, he was both the strongest and the gentler. Would be higher but I have other fav 5: Hyun ju (120) MY BABY. One of the best trans representation. Baddas tho so yeah 4: Kang No-eul (guard 11) Loved her, favorite guard ever. I enjoyed her arc against the organ trading business. 3: Hwang Jun-ho He was my favourite in season 1, collapsed in the later seasons bc he was useless but anyway. If he trusted Park a little less maybe my fav characters would have lived 2: Seong Gi-hun One of the best main characters. Had no arc in season 3. I was heartbroken seeing how shattered he was after his first games 1: Hwang In-ho My favorite not bc I condone his action but bc he is complex. I adored him as Young-il in season 2
