A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO UNSEEN POETRY ANALYSIS AT GCSE
So, for my first studyblr post I figured I’d tackle the one we don’t speak of, the bane of every year 11′s existence - unseen poetry. This is going to be a three part series summing up how to tackle each question, and today, I’m going to help with AQA Literature paper 2 section C question 1 - unseen poetry analysis.

Tips for GCSE’s/Year 11′s
I did my GCSE exams last year so I know exactly the stress and pressure that is being put on you right from so, I have come up with tips/reassurance for what is ahead of you!
1. Sleep matters - what most people forget is sleep is much more important than that A in physics. The brain replenishes whilst your sleep  and it is a muscle and like any other muscle in your body, it needs its rest.
2. Revise before you go to sleep - I did this and this is one of the reasons why I passed biology. I read somewhere (cannot remember where, sorry!) that the information you learn before you go to sleep flows into your long-term memory better. So, if you have important dates for history or you need to remember other important stuff then do it before you go to sleep! Put your phone to the side to charge or whatever and get your notes/textbook out and read! Also, saying the stuff I need to remember out loud helps me with remembering it better.
3. W.A.T.E.R - some people forget to drink water. It has so many benefits; improves your mood, gives you energy, gives you clear skin. But,you will just go to pee like every half hour.
4. If you fail an exam, it not the end of the world - my teachers acted as if GCSE’S are a button that if i press (fail an exam) the button, I will destruct the world (my life). However, that is definitely not the case. I personally failed maths twice and I’m retaking it again this year. It is honestly no biggie if you fail an exam. Just learn from your mistakes then go back and redo them until you get them right!
5. You will have to sacrifice something if you want an A - this did not personally affect me because I prefer staying inside anyway so I didn’t lose out on my social life. However, for those who love to go out a lot and you want perfect grades then sorry to break it to you but if you want those A’s, you gotta sacrifice your social life. BUT. It is not forever - once your exams are over, you will have two months to grab KFC at 10pm and go for walks at 2am by the beach.
6. You won’t be motivated Every day - it’s okay to skip a day of revision. It’s okay to skip an hour of doing a past paper. You’re human and you too need rest. Just make sure you do not procrastinate on Tumblr, facebook, Instagram or snapchat.
7. Relax - I was the biggest bundle of stress last year. Reflecting back on it, I can see there was nothing to be stressed about. My revision paid off and now I’m here studying subjects I enjoy at A-level.
Last note - please don’t beat yourself about getting an A because the course you want to do at A-level or college or Uni requires you to have an A. Most of the time, subject leaders pick students who do not meet the requirements based on their academic achievements throughout year 11. Also, please DO NOT MESS AROUND IN CLASS. USE YOUR TIME WISELY OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.
