we are trying to trend #DisneySaveAndiMack on Twitter this Friday (August 23) at 6pm EST - and continuing to spam Disney and Hulu’s social media with the tag all weekend! More info on how you can help above!
An adorable dorky brunette on Disney channel has a beautiful blonde best friend. The two of them actually have gay crushes on each other but are oblivious. The blonde has kind of a bad reputation and the brunette is known for being a goody two shoes. The blonde teaches the brunette to be adventurous and the brunette helps the blonde be responsible. The two of them have a serious talk on a bench. Now. Am I talking about Tyrus or Rilaya?
I’m bi, and today I decided that I’m going to come out to my best friend when I see her tomorrow. I’m more nervous than you can imagine.. I’m shaking all over just at the thought of it. Not because she won’t be supportive, but I’m just afraid of change in general.
However, I feel so inspired by this Andi Mack community and cast with hearing about everyone’s courage and testimonies of how much they’ve been changed by the show for good. Thank you all for being yourselves and still being around, because I don’t know if I’d ever come to terms with my sexuality and have the bravery to admit it to even myself without a fandom like this. Wish me luck! I love you all!
Why did everyone stop spamming Hulu? We need to keep going otherwise they'll think we didn't really care about the show. If we want it we have to go out and fight for it.
i think the reason why so many of us are sad to see andi mack go is because there truly isn't anything else like it. sure, this has likely opened doors for more diversity in disney shows later down the line, but none of them will have the one-of-a-kind tone that andi mack does. every episode is uplifting without trying too hard to be funny or outrageous. the darker topics are always teachable moments and never made you feel so upset that it tainted the rest of the episode.
i really do think that andi mack is something incredibly emotionally balanced, and therefore fun to watch. it's purposeful where much of children's programming is not, but still a lot lighter and more fun than most adult tv shows. that middle ground is where more shows should aim to be.
