MJ'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE PERTH TELETHON
____________________________
It was around October, 1985.
Michael flew to Australia to attend The Perth Telethon, hosted by Molly Meldrum. Perth Telethon is a program that raises funds for hospitals and charities focused on health and protection of children. Two major beneficiaries of the telethon are The Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, and the Telethon Institute for Children. It wasn't only Michael's appearance to skyrocket donations, but he also donated two fedoras and a pair of rhinestone socks to the foundation to be auctioned off and funds donated to the cause. After his appearance on the Telethon, which raided over 2.8 million Australian dollars, Michael visited the "Princess Margaret Children's Hospital" where, once again The king of Pop spent hours meeting terminally ill patients, signing autographs and giving out gifts. Michael also visited "Cohuna Wildlife Sanctuary" in Perth before flying back to the U.S.
Two patients of the Princess Margaret Children's Hospital, Helen Francis and Luke Smith, were lucky enough to meet Michael on the set of the Perth Telethon. There are others background stories around 1985 that involves Michael's humanitarian side, so keep reading if you wanna know more about them.
The first story was around March, 1985, Michael visits a young girl who remains paralysed after a car accident in Miami, Florida. Later he will send her a recording of the Victory Tour concerts and a jacket.
The second story is around March 29, 1985, on the day after he unveiled his max figure at Madame Tussauds in London. Michael privately visited the Royal London Hospital for the second time in two years. Michael spent around three hours giving out gifts, signing autographs and lifting the spirit of terminally ill children. He also made an undisclosed monetary donation. The final story was around July of the same year when Michael was filming his newest 3D film "Captain EO". A part of the stage fell on Michael's already sprained wrist, requiring him to go to the hospital. After being assessed by his doctor, he wandered the wards, meeting & greeting patients, still in his Captain EO costume.

UNTOLD STORIES BEHIND THE VICTORY TOUR
____________________________________
The Victory Tour was a concert tour of the United States and Canada by the Jacksons from July to December 1984. It was the only tour with all six Jackson brothers.
Most came to see Michael, whose album Thriller was dominating the popular music world at the time. Many consider it to be his Thriller tour.
King, Sullivan and the Jacksons' father Joe Jackson came up with a way to generate additional revenue from ticket sales. Those wishing to attend would have to send a postal money order for $120 ($300 in modern dollars) along with a special form to a lottery to buy blocks of four tickets at $30 apiece, ostensibly to curtail scalpers. Upon receipt the money was to be deposited into a standard money market account earning 7% annual interest; it would take six to eight weeks for the lottery to be held and money to be refunded to the unsuccessful purchasers. Since only one in ten purchasers would win the lottery and receive tickets, there would be more money in the bank for that time period than there were tickets to sell, and they expected to earn $10–12 million in interest. On July 5, 1984, after receiving a letter from eleven-year-old fan Ladonna Jones, who accused the Jacksons and their promoters of being "selfish and just out for money," Michael held a press conference where he declared the ticketing system would be a fairer distribution system through Ticketmaster & also announced, : "I want you to know that when I first agreed to tour, I decided to donate all the money I make from our performances (an estimated $7.5 million) to charity."
Three charities benefited from Michael's generosity: Camp Good Times for terminally ill children, the T.J. Martell Foundation for leukaemia and cancer research, and The United Negro College Fund, which went on to establish the 'Michael Jackson scholarship fund'. Michael also donated a further 3 million dollars to the 'Mount Sinai New York medical centre'.
On July 1984, after the first concert of The Victory Tour, Michael and his brothers met eight ill children backstage. All the children received gifts and autographed photos. Fourteen-year-old Malanda Cooper, a young terminally ill child who had only a short time to live, wrote to the Mayor, asking to meet Michael. Michael invited her backstage before the concert where he posed for a photo with her and wished her welI. Over 700 disadvantaged children were treated to the shows for free on The Jackson's Victory Tour. The Jacksons also donated 1200 tickets, valued at $39,000 to unprivileged children to their concert at Texas stadium in Dallas.
There are meny more stories to tell about, such as Leroy Robinson Jnr who was just eight years old when was given weeks to live by doctors because of brain tumour. While The Jacksons were in Texas, Michael arranged for bed-ridden Leroy and his family to be transported in an ambulance to the concert, where the boy watched the show from an ambulance stretcher side-stage. After the concert the whole family was also transported back to Michael's hotel where Michael met & chatted with them and gave Leroy a signed white glove. Michael kept in touch with the family for the next two years and Leroy's health improved dramatically. Another story is about Catina Scharf, a 11-year-old girl with an inoperable brain tumour. Her wish was to meet Michael and thanks to the effort of a small group of volunteers, Catina's wish was granted. Michael spent more than 15 minutes with her giving kisses and hugs and the autographed tour program. The young girl's health improved and she lived 30 years more until she died cause of a bike accident.

It was April 9, 1984.
Through the "Brass Ring Society", an organization which fulfilled the wishes of terminal ill children, David Smithee, a 14 year-old sufferer of cystic fibrosis, was invited to visit Michael at his Encino family home. It was David's last wish to meet Michael.
During the afternoon visit, David watched a movie with Michael in his home theater, played video games and was shown by Michael how to Moonwalk. David later said, "I played two video games with him and beat him both times." The visit was topped off with Michael giving David the red leather jacket he had worn in the "Beat it" video and a breaded glove he had worn to the American Music Awards, where he collected eight awards. David went back to the hospital a couple of days after returning from his week-long California trip and proudly showed his glove & jacket to everyone that he saw!
David died seven weeks later & Michael dedicated the Jacksons "Victory" album to him.
Karen Wilson, David's mother spoke of Michael after he passed on 2009: "I have some wonderful memories of my son and how special Michael Jackson treated him," Wilson said. "Michael Jackson gave us the happiest last month of our lives", she went on to say. "David died very happy." Karen still has the Jacket, glove and photos of her time with Michael. "They are under lock and key," She said. "But now they've become too fragile to take out and touch too much."

THE MICHAEL JACKSON BURN CENTRE.
______________________
It was January 27, 1984.
Durante the filming of a Pepsi commercial, Michael suffered severe burns to his scalp due to a pyrotechnics malfunctions. After being taken to the Sinai Medical centre, where his arrival caused chaos that the hospital struggled to deal with, he was transported to the Brotman Medical Centre in California. Despite second and third-degree burns to the back of his head, Michael visited several other burn patients and donated a hyperbaric chamber (used to treat burn victims) to the hospital.
In the first picture we see Michael and 23 year-old mechanic, Keith Perry, who had suffered third-degree burns to over 95% of his body. Keith had just undergone his 14th operation when Michael arrived to chat with him and try to help lift his spirits. The surgeons declared that Michael's visit at Perry's bedside was the main reason he had pulled through: "Michael encouraged him & talking to him for hours", said hospital spokesman, Judy Davis. Instead of suing PepsiCo, who were at fault, Michael and PepsiCo settled an arrangement out of court for $1.5 million. The entire settlement amount was then donated to the Brotman Medical centre. Using the money donated by Michael, the medical centre was able to get the best available technology for treating burn victims. The burns ward at the hospital was later named the "Michael Jackson Burn Centre" to honour Michael and his generous contribution.

Please, don't take my edits too seriously because all I do is change reality and express my imagination.
In no way I'm trying to normalize abuse or fooling Michael.
I'm aware that some of you might not like it, so I ask you to ignore and not make counterproductive criticisms.
Finally, I want to thank to those who support my edits.

A VISIT THAT CHANGE A LIFE.
__________________________
It was March 7, 1973
A young Michael Jackson visited the bedside of a 6-year old Leslie Robinette, who suffered from aplastic anaemia caused by the genetic disease Fanconi anaemia.
Michael visited her at the Seattle Children's Hospital (known then as The Children's Orthopaedic Hospital and Medical Centre.)
Leslie had received a bone marrow transplant and was one of the youngest to ever have the procedure. She went through chemotherapy, radiation, an ever-changing plethora of medications and was kept in isolation for three months.
Her state of health was precarious, the doctors saying, after she was dismissed from the hospital, that she might live 10 years.
"I was sitting in my room looking out the window, ironically listening "Looking through the window" by the Jackson 5, when I heard all the nurses going wild and carrying on", Leslie said 26 years later.
The Jackson 5 were there. "They asked me which one I wanted to see, and I said I wanted to see Michael, " she says, laughing. She described Michael as shy, but kind and sincere, signing an autograph for her, holding her hand and asking about her condition. "I would never say that he saved her life - that's crazy - but he gave her back a little of her will to live because she had lost it," Trine Robinette, Leslie's sister added. Leslie's health eventually improved, and her family returned to their farm in Greenville, Tennessee, where she lived with her parents. 11 years later, Leslie met Michael again, while he was on tour in Knoxville with his brothers. Leslie received free tickets, then went backstage to meet the Jackson brothers. "I asked him if he remembered me, and he said yes. We talked about the progress with my condition and how I was getting my back brace off soon", Robinette said. Michael then told his security that she was his guest, so she got to watch the show from a raised VIP platform, seated next to Michael's mother, Katherine. Still struggling with her disease, she was less than 4 feet tall and weighted about 60 pounds. She is now in her 40's and involved with the North American Riding for the Handicapped association.
"I've always felt that Michael and I were kind of kindred spirits, because we both grew up not being able to really go anywhere or anything normal kids do", Robinette says, adding that she hopes people will remember Michael Jackson for his good deeds and music.

“VISIT TO THE HOSPITAL IN LONDON”
_________________________
It was November 10, 1972.
Michael made his first visit to the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
Later in life, he would become one of their biggest financial contributors and visited patients in the hospital on numerous occasions.
During this visit, he gave out gifts that had been sent to him from fans to patients and signed autographs.
The picture above captured one of the rare moments on this day, Michael pushing patient Shirley Smith in her wheelchair.

“DRESSED AS SANTA”
Michael Jackson it seems, was born a humanitarian. Although his award-winning charity work didn’t come until later in life, there are many stories that can be found with a little research of a young Michael in the 1970’s, after starting to earn money from as a child, spending his small weekly wager on lollies and sweets for the local neighboring children.
_________________
In 1971 in Los Angeles, California, 13-years old Michael and Jackson 5, dressed as Santa’s and appeared at Motown Records’ Christmas party held at the Pacific Townclub. The Jackson 5 and Mary Wilson of the Supremes gave presents to over 600 underprivileged children.
The Santa’s identities were kept secret until they had finished distributing presents to the youngersters, although many of the recipients were said to be quite aware of the groups identities!

"Don't let your demons destroy you."
.
Edited by me {Imtbm}
This edit represents how everybody feel sometimes.
We all had been through some situations that we will never forget, but it's good to remain ourselves to keep going on.
Past is gone.
Learn from it and let it rest in hell
or peace.
Focus on the present to make your future better.
And whatever you're struggling with, you'll overcome it.
Always remember that:
You're the one who can kill your own demons or be killed by them.
