A Maori tribesman, one of the aboriginal peoples of NewZealand. Britain had social issues with natives in NewZealand since they wanted the country for their own benefit. As a result, the natives were forced to give up their land in exchange for protection by England. England's presence in the new lands also provided new exotic items to natives like potatoes, farm animals and more.

British immigrants getting ready to leave for NewZealand for new opportunities. British peoples most likely had social issues for leaving behind their home to a brand new place far south into the Pacific. If I were an immigrant during this time, I would be intimidated by the unknown in such a place far away from home.

Advertisement for Irish settlers to come to New Zealand. People in England and Ireland looked elsewhere for jobs including newly found territories such as NewZealand and Australia, These two places also served as new port countries, furthering increasing the already mighty navy Britain possessed.

NewZealand tastes like sheep. This political cartoon shows how Britain is as if eating the world because of their amount of territories in different parts of the world at the time. This also shows their greed for more land as well as their dominant military in world during their Imperialistic era.

"Great Britain of the South Seas". This image shows how there is economic opportunity awaiting in NewZealand for British people looking elsewhere for money making endeavors. Agricultural resources like fish, cows and sheep were ways newly immigrated people made a living. People also sought natural resources like gold, sand and iron.
