ITWARD AND REMOR WERE ONCE CLOSE.

prior to the events of the game/the brief events leading up to the game, Itward and Remor were actually rather close. they were friends. their realities are practically next door neighbors, Itward being from the fourth reality and Remor from the fifth, and given Itward particularly leaning more towards aiding children who are mentally ill/declared mentally ill, and Remor deals with bringing people to insanity, it would make sense that they’d have often been around one another. while Itward didn’t approve of everything Remor did, he understood that, even though he was a creature of darkness, what Remor did was important and thus he never interfered with his work.

taking the one image in the Twins’ house of the skeleton consoling a goat-demon creature, it is safe to assume that is an image of Itward and Remor (which, for this blog, IT IS), and thus it leads me to believe that Itward took to his talents of consoling and befriending to Remor. what it would be that Remor needed to be consoled over is up to speculation and honestly is subjective, I personally could see even Remor not liking his work at times (possibly during the cases where humans MAKE him seek out particular persons due to summoning him, as is my headcanon for the case with Doctor Oswald and Aunt Grace). so this is another way the two got close, from Itward being there for Remor when he just needed someone-- because honestly I doubt his mother would console him (she’s asleep most of the time anyways pfff).

over time, Itward actually developed FEELINGS for Remor. of course, he smothered these feelings and denied them-- he never let on to them, never intended to, and continued on as Remor’s friend. to him such feelings were ‘forbidden’ and (of course) he feels no one would reciprocate such feelings, especially Remor. so for the longest time he pretended like his feelings stopped at friendship, and luckily no one was ever the wiser and Remor never found out, but soon everything crumbled between them.

when Remor messed with Fran, Itward wouldn’t stand for it. it didn’t matter that Remor had been summoned, that he was doing the bidding of Dr. Oswald and Aunt Grace; he hurt Fran and Itward was LIVID. Itward immediately ended any sort of ties to Remor, cut off communication, worked at everything he could to STOP him, interfering for the first time with the prince of darkness’s work. it broke Itward’s heart to do this, to burn the bridge that connected them, but even after everything came to a conclusion, even after Itward and Palontras had rescued Fran and taken her in, he still refused to see Remor again, refused to talk to him, to be his friend. he still thinks of him though, from time to time, misses actually hanging out with him, wanting to go see him-- but he never does. he won’t. the only time they would be in each others’ presence post game would be if they happened to run into each other, and you bet your ass that would be a helluva awkward and tension filled encounter.
