gravyCAKE Productions unveils episode 2 of ‘i am QUEER in BROOKLYN,’ a web-based docu-series about the lives, passion and flair of queers living in Brooklyn, New York. This episode features indie songstress Adrienne Mack-Davis of Bushwick, Brooklyn.
“The way people are ingesting entertainment is changing” says co-creator Alex Lloyd. “Creating a web-series promoting people of racial and sexual backgrounds that you wouldn’t normally see on network television is radical and freeing because you are maintaining creative control, thus shaping these images with authenticity.”
At the core, ‘i am QUEER in BROOKLYN’ follows those who are creating differently, loving enormously, living wildly or barely surviving, hustling, grinding, coming out, discovering themselves, taking chances, impacting, influencing and changing the world around them through their artistry, musicianship, fashioning and lifestyle. All participants sit comfortably under the LGBTAQ (lesbian, gay, bi, trans, allies/androgynous/asexual, queer) umbrella, embracing one or more terms; sometimes embracing none- which, as gravyCAKE defines it, is queer within itself.

Lesbians Po & Dice from LaLa’s Full Court life talk to the breakfast club (Angela Yee, Charlamagne tha God and DJ Envy) at Power 105 in new york.
Peep some of the excerpts from the video below:
On being black lesbians out of the closet
Dice: I have a lot of people that will reach out to me like on Facebook or twitter telling me like ‘Yo, you just made it easier for me to come out to my family,” or “I look up to you,” or they’ll hit me, “How can I come out to my family, I’m going through this or that, can you help me, give me words of encouragement.” So that’s definitely a great thing, if you could just reach out, especially to the young kids, cause you hear so much about bullying and all that, and I never experienced none of that, which I’m blessed I never had to. I always had a supportive family, so that was good, but a lot of people don’t have that.
Dice On Why Women Are Better in Bed
What more to know what a woman likes than another woman and women take the time out to 4 play and all that and really get into it and guys just be rushin’ tryin’ to get theirs.
Dice on whether she uses strap ons (whoaaaa)
Angela Yee: Dice, do you use strap ons and everything?
Dice: Whatever they want mama, I’m here to please. You like it I love it.
Po to Angela Yee: I feel like you’re wondering.
Dice: I feel like the wheels are turning.
Charlamagne: Curiosity is gonna get ya cat licked Yee!
Po: I just know that face. I’ve seen that face. Thenthe next thing ya know I see ya comin’ out of Dice’s room, like “Hey,” “Good Morning Angela.”
Angela was wondering something serrrioussssss hahaha

Santigold just released the cover art for her new album “Master of My Make-Believe,” (Yesss MA’AMMMM!!) out May 1. For the picture, she hired the photographer Jason Schmidt to shoot her three ways: as attendants wearing custom bodysuits designed by Alexander Wang in what she calls “Bond-girl, gold of course!”; as a distinguished army officer in a painting by the artist Kehinde Wiley; and as a dominating mafia Don in the center — “Some sort of ruler in my own reality,” Santi calls it.
Referencing the 18th-century British artist Joshua Reynolds’s painting of Banastre Tarleton titled “Portrait of an Officer,” Wiley’s depiction of Santi is, in fact, his first of a woman ever (up until this point his work has focused solely on African-American men, whom he places against vividly colorful and cartoonish floral backdrops).
More at T Magazine, and watch a behind the scenes video as well.
