   you untie the white ribbon in your hair, looping it gently – but securely! – around his wrist and tying it in a bow. ( you wonder if he’ll recognize it as one he gifted you a lifetime ago in ylisse. ) you then lift the hand bound to that wrist and brush your lips to his knuckles. 

“here, my favour to you. i just hope it proves as useful to you as yours did for me…”

     she tugs the ribbon from her hair and corvo watches quietly as she loops it twice around his wrist before tying it into a bow atop it. of course he recognizes it -- it had been a dear gift to her, and she made a habit of wearing it just about every single day. the brush of her lips to his knuckles has his face flushing a bit, color coming to the bridge of his nose and to his ears.

           “ -- if it’s even half as useful, i think i’ll be just fine. thank you. i’ll be sure nothing bad happens to it. ”

     the news that hugh is here brings a gladness to his chest that canas finds himself yearning for more and more. it’s a warmth, thawing the ice that still clings inside of him, and it’s a pride that he doesn’t want to let go of. hugh greets him at the stairs to the library, the winding and steep stairs that canas still struggles with sometimes.

     there’s a request to talk in private and canas ducks his head in response, leading them back into the winding library. it isn’t a private room, but it’s so vast that no one is bound to bother them here. they even retreat to canas’s private corner, stacked high with books pulled from shelves.

      the news is -- it’s grand, it should be exciting, it should make him very, very proud. instead, it makes him a bit afraid. his mind snaps to vague memories of his brothers, listless and unresponsive, and it snaps to the here-and-now of his ruined body.

a mysterious mage serving the royal family of hoshido. his origin is mysterious, though he speaks fondly of his homeland. he has a great amount of skill with dark magic. has the most feathered friends in the army. born on 10/28.

CLASS & LEVEL: level seven basara. CLASS TREE: diviner > onmyoji > basara. RECLASS OPTIONS: dark mage, outlaw. PERSONAL SKILL: sang noir, adding three points to his skill and magic stats as long as he holds more than two dark tomes in his possession. OTHER SKILLS: future sight, rally magic, tomefaire, rend heaven & quixotic.

recruitable in BIRTHRIGHT & REVELATIONS.

changes his name from CORBETT to CORVO and serves the hoshidan royal family as azura’s retainer, though he does not travel alongside her to nohr when she departs in conquest.

is not s-rank material! in an established relationship with rica / irene and therefore off the market. sorry, folks.

eventually has a daughter named dae that can be recruited towards the late game.

has taken surprisingly well to his basara position. physical combat had never appealed to him before coming to hoshido.

also has a special basara mask. it’s an oni mask instead of the traditional tengu.

refuses if given the chance to return home. he likes it here in hoshido. he doesn’t want to return to ylisse at all.
