thank you whoever just liked this post recently, i actually wanna add something i learned like years ago while in the hxh / hisoillu fandom xP

the numbers 1-0-3 in Jpn can be read as “Yi Lu Mi” (well technically San, but the texts 三 and ミ look similar)

and it’s in reverse bc 301 is for Gittarakur (Illumi’s alt persona /disguise) !

that’s why a part of the fandom celebrates 10-3 (October 3) as “Illumi Day” 😊

Fun HxH fact I just realized:

Gon’s Hunter Examinee number was 405, and his canon birthdate is 5-5;

same goes to Kurapika, 404, birthday 4-4; Leorio, 403, 3-3.

The only ones (within the main characters) who doesn’t follow this pattern are Killua & Hisoka, to have their tag numbers different meanings.

Hisoka’s already been mentioned, 44, the death (or double dead) number.

(His birthday is 6-6, Killua’s is 7-7)

Killua being number 99 is very interesting,

According to this [wiki-article], the number 9 in Japanese can mean two different things:

When pronounced as “kyu” it means “relief” (or a term similar to that),

But when pronounced as “ku” it means “agony or torture” 👀

And I think both relates to Killua, which is pretty cool.
