The space between 3 buildings at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center houses a wild overgrown forest floor with a slow moving stream and a canopy of lacy, thin vine maples. Interspersed between the trees are 17 "rain drums" that play the raindrops as they fall from the sky and drip from the branches. When the sky is dry, there is a set of computer controlled water drippers that create a set of changing rhythms. There is also a drum available to the public to contribute to the song. "Lights" is a short film meant to depict the unclear and often surreal elements that appear to us in our dreams. We are witnessing and experiencing a journey with our protagonist through the dreamscape as the dream unfolds and the particulars become hazy. The protagonist stumbles across a green-haired creature amidst a series of eerie lights reminiscent of the stars and universe. They are unsure of whether they are dreaming or awake and find themselves fighting for their grip onto reality as they chase down the elusive creature. We as the viewer are left to decide the meaning of the dream and to reflect upon the purposes of dreaming.
