I know everyone says it’s best to just stick to “said” as a dialogue tag bc it disappears and that’s true and I mostly do but I want to take a moment for my all-time favorite dialogue tag, “lied.” Absolutely nothing hits like “‘I’m here to help,’ he lied.” NOTHING.

do you think in the homestuck universe there are murderers who don't want to risk hiding the body and getting caught so they carry around the corpse in their sylladex for the rest of their lives almost like a physical reminder of their victim and what they did to them. and this goes on until they're on their deathbed and their sylladex gets emptied out. that is if it hasn't already popped out in some comical scenario where they accidentally captchalogue too much stuff and the body gets launched out the window or something
