feelings about social media

after opening instagram like i do once in a blue moon, i recently thought to myself — why have i been doomscrolling on youtube this whole time when i could have been looking at cute art and checking in with friends instead?

i think i still feel a lot of pressure when i look at other artists work — not from them but from within myself — to get working on new merch, reopening my store, to draw, to interact, etc. and as much as making frog stuff is my hobby it unfortunately feels like work as well, which is probably why i've slowly separated myself from social media over the years.

that said every time i open social media i really miss seeing everyone's work, following new artists (or following back friends that i've completely missed cuz i'm never on!!!), and just interacting with more artists and fans like i used to. hopefully now that i've recognized it i can separate the negative feelings and get back more (and stop doomscrolling on youtube!!)

anyways i also miss ranting like this 😅 i hope you guys don't mind too much! i'd love to start posting more here on tumblr as well
