it just occurred to me that the phrase “stay alive” to a regular person means nothing, it’s almost like saying “hey don’t forget to intake oxygen” to them it doesn’t matter. but for us it means something so tender and special. its this thing that carries a meaning for us as individuals and as a group and each meaning is just as important as the other. “stay alive” is something we say and think so often as clique members sometimes we forget what ELSE its come to mean and i think we deserve to rejoice that meaning.

You know what? I’m tired of people mainly thinking brave is when someone rides the fastest or tallest roller coaster. Yes, that is essentially brave, but I’m pissed that it isn’t more acknowledged that people with mental illness or other problems in their life are just as brave as that person to ride that roller coaster. Is it not courageous when someone with social anxiety makes an appointment on the phone despite their fear? Is it not brave when someone with depression gets out of bed? So it’s not valiant when a person decides to not cut their wrists? While all these things may seem easy to do or not to do to people without mental illnesses, it’s much harder for those who illnesses like these, they aren’t ever really acknowledged or rewarded for the bravery. I think they are equally courageous as someone climbing a tall structure despite their fear of heights. So next time you see someone you know who has problems or mental illnesses that make it harder for them to get through the day in one day, recognize their small but big, acts of bravery.
