willow looked between the bartender and maya as if worried the bartender would disappear if she didn't keep her eye on them. She didn't feel like fighting for attention again. a small shrug of her shoulders. a rum and coke. okay. not entirely what she had been expecting but who was she to care. whatever the girl wanted. pearly white smile, the blonde acted like she was perusing the bar for a second before ordering. "I'm gonna get a double pink gin with Fever Tree lemonade if you have it, spritz if not, a rum and coke and...." her voice trails off as she turns back to the other girl. "you good with tequila? great." a rhetorical question she didn't care much for the actual answer. she figured the answer would be no all things considered but she didn't fancy the back and forth. "two tequila shots."
willow turned away sharply, that all too fake smile vanishing just as quick as they awaited their drinks. "so," hummed loudly as she just looked over maya. searching for something interesting. naivety could only get her so far. it was cute for a few minutes but quickly became boring. "it's maya, right- what's your deal maya?" the blonde asks. "you've looked terrified this whole time."
maya gave willow a sideways glance when she told her not to apologise. it was mostly instinct, a reflex born from having some level of anxiety, where 'sorry' slipped out at every chance. "okay," she replied softly, though she knew herself well enough to know she'd probably say it a few more times before the night was over. she was relieved when willow took charge in flagging down the bartender. if it had been up to maya, they’d likely be standing there drink-less all night and she knew neither of them wanted that.
the fact that willow admitted to liking fruity drinks made maya smile. because she’d never quite believed people when they claimed to enjoy the taste of alcohol. her brother swore up and down that beer tasted good but after many nights together of her brother making her try different beers, maya still hadn't found one she could tolerate. when Willow told her not to overthink it, maya had to hold back a laugh — clearly, they didn’t know each other well yet, because overthinking was her specialty. "alright, no overthinking," she muttered, eyes scanning the bar again, searching for something she might actually enjoy. "i'll try a rum and coke," she decided, turning back to willow with a smile. there, easy. hopefully, she'd like it...

Random words of positivity: If you ever feel left out or ignored in your rpc, whether it's indie or fandom, there will always be at least one person who enjoys writing with you. Focus on those who give you a good feeling. Focus on those who are genuienly interested in your muse and building stories. You don't need hundreds of followers or countless of likes on something. Popular blogs are not always happier than you. If you love writing, keep on. After a low, you will experience a high again. Just remember, be a good person, treat others with respect, learn to communicate and especially, don't be an asshole. Writing is not a job! Don't steal from other people, don't steal graphics, don't steal muses, don't steal starters and don't conceal it behind "inspiration" or "coincidence". Writing is about creativity and a hobby that should make you happy.

painted lips quirk up in a tiny but genuine smile at the girl's reaction. barely audible but still enough over the booming music and loud conversations. or more so a reaction to maya's expression in the moment. "don't be," shrugged off as she almost leaned down against the bar; pausing only when her mind caught up to the fact it was probably very sticky at this point in the night. instead, she stretched forward glancing down to try and catch someone's eye. turning back only when she deemed herself semi-successful.
"uh..." pretty eyes glance slowly over maya, weighing up just how cruel she wanted to be. might be fun to recommend something like a whiskey just to see how she handles herself. her father loved whiskey she she could probably pick something real harsh. "I'm a simple girl. alcohol is disgusting so I like my drinks a little sweet." simple wasn't exactly an accurate description of willow but she was partial to an expensive champagne or an overly complicated cocktail should the event arise. anything that didn't burn on the way down unless she was desperate. "anything but beer really. don't over think it, I'm just getting a double pink gin," when she turns back it's to get the bartender's attention. a much faker smile. "so?" she turns back to maya.
maya laughed at willow's quip, the sound coming out louder than the one word reply warranted. it was her nervous habit — awkward and on edge, though not really because of willow. she just felt out of her element, and when that happened, loud, awkward laughter became her default. if she could relax. she figured if she did have something, willow would be the perfect person to share it with. “sorry,” she added with a shrug.
she caught the hint of sarcasm in willow’s tone but chose not to comment. she wasn’t sure if it was directed at her, the situation, or both. either way, she didn't acknowledge it. instead, maya glanced around the bar, noticing the drinks people had in their hands. most were shades of brown or white, nothing she could really identify by sight. one person held something bright green, and she quickly decided she didn’t want to know what was in that. "no pressure, then,” she said with a small smile as she turned back to willow. “what do you recommend?”

"oh my god," a dramatic groan, rainn really couldn't see what the big deal was here. one simple kiss was not worth this much conversation. "I didn't even know you were there, okay? you're acting like I planned this or something."
"what's unreasonable was you doing it right in front of my face, rainn," nora still couldn't believe it, wondering if this was all some nightmare she'd wake from soon. "i thought there was at least some common courtesy here."

"reckon i can just be spider-woman for Halloween" gwen mused aloud. god she hated being called spider-woman such a lame name for a cool power but alas the media writes what they want. "or would that be cheating?"

connection: friend, partner, crush, someone who works at the theatre etc.
"are you here to help or just remind me of how important tomorrow is? because I've already had a bunch of texts so," overheating and getting progressively more and more stressed, sen had been in the kitchen since the crack of dawn doing their favourite thing. baking. a once delightful little hobby was beginning to feel like a chore. it was their own fault for giving into peer pressure but when multiple actors tell you the show will be a complete disaster if you don't bake x y and z for the fundraiser, you kind of just do it. the weight of community theatre was suddenly squarely on their shoulders. "I've got like a million more cookies to make, I still need to decorate the cupcakes and I think I forgot to put sugar in the brownies."

@sheisolucky liked for a autumn/halloween starter
whoever decided open-air cinemas were a good idea clearly had never been to one past the summertime. in theory, it was a cute little spot to watch movies. in practice, lycan was starting to feel the chill of the night air as she sat on a blanket, waiting for the movie to start. "so what are we seeing again?" she wonders. "you promise it's not scary?"

"yeah, well..." her voice trailed off as she shrugged her shoulders a little. was it really that hard to believe she wouldn't be over having losers try and hit on her? surely they could understand, they were cute after all. "I just expect people to be original. What's hard about that?" there was definitely more to it. willow was very particular about the company she kept and the people she gave even an ounce of her time to. it was a miracle she was still entertaining this conversation. "can only fall from heaven so many times, you know?"
“over it? you’re over being hot? must be nice…” arden muses, biting down on her lower lip. not that she’s necessarily insecure but they are very different people — and she isn’t getting compliments thrown at her like the blonde is. “what does it take to get your attention, then? you can’t expect people to read your mind, surely.”

'i don't believe you've ever been near a woman like me'. how cute. a huff of a laugh slipped past painted lips but she quickly composed herself. megan was yet to prove herself as any different than the people she'd spent her whole life around. she was beautiful, yes, there was certainly no denying that. she even liked this little attempt at taking control of the situation. maybe it was the alcohol clouding her judgement but she would let the moment play out. Megan deserved her moment in this delicate dance for power. the blonde's hands followed their guide to come and rest against megan's hips without protest. a small shiver spilling up her spine as fingertips gently tease her thigh. but even as she kept her gaze on the other, it was simply never going to be that easy. "you really think that? how sweet," the blonde replies, delicate hands moving to grace the older woman's wrists to bring a moment of pause. "I wanna hear you say it."
if there was one thing megan disliked was to be made to wait, or not be given what she wants - brows quickly raise as the blonde stops their lips from connecting, a frustrated huff exists the older woman's lips as she herself moves back a little, she recognizes the lust for power that willow seems to crave but megan was never one to stay under anyone , specially when it came to being dominant, eyes glancing down as the blonde reaches megan's chest, her hands guiding them down to megan's hips as she moves her own hands down onto willow's thighs, caressing them to ease access slowly. ' i know that sweetheart, but then again - i don't believe you've ever been near a woman like me. ' words soft like a purr, her fingers caressing closer into willow's inner thigh. ' why would i admit it when i could just show you? '

asha lay back on the bed chewing on a red vine as they listened to jamie's mean girl inspired rant and wondered how they even got onto this conversation. not that they were complaining. getting to talk about films was like everything to them even if it was just some teen flick. "I don't think anyone really thinks the new mean girls compares to the old one, jamie. you're good. the original is considered a classic for a reason and is still very much in the public psyche." they express, sitting up to look at their friend. "even if you look at the movie musical as it's own entity, it's not very good. the pacing is literally all over the place and the songs are basic and don't work in the movie. lyrically a mess... janis is grossly mischaracterized to the point she's basically a different character. there is no way original janis would be caught dead singing i'd rather be me. apex predator is the exception though, they nailed that and the whole movie sequence is a joy from start to finish." asha continues. "but yeah the cast is hot in both. i can't tell who you like more from those points but sure. rapp is insanely talented and looks insane through the whole movie."
open to: f/nb suggested connections: best friend
please read my rules before responding
"You simply cannot compare the original Mean Girls--- to the newest one. It's an iconic, timeless movie! It deserves to go into a time capsule, that's the type of influence it has," Jamie scoffed, as she accidentally poked herself in the eye with her eyeshadow brush, when already trying to hide her most recent black eye. She could NOT go to tonight's carnival looking like a troll, especially if she knew her crush would be there. So, getting ready with her bestest friend, one whom was staying over for a sleepover, you know she felt comfortable when she just spewed gay shit without a filter. "They're alike, yes, but so, totally different. One is a musical. But besides the cringe, for me, the big difference? I'm instantly mesmerized by Renee Rapp but I want to call Rachel McAdams 'mommy', she's so hot. Dominate me, please." She faked moaned before turning around, looking at the other.

willow navigated the world with such a high degree of unwavering confidence. it made sense. she was breathtakingly beautiful, ridiculously wealthy and had such a bright future it was almost blinding. she lived a near-perfect life so it was no wonder she garnered such attention. she firmly believed everyone either wanted to be her or be with her including beautiful, successful women like twice her age. and there was nobody willow wanted more right now than Megan. dear, sweet and just a little uptight Megan. the blonde had never been afraid to make her interest known, sober or not. she was just waiting for the inevitable moment that interest was returned. a gentle finger placed against the other's lips just before they connect. she wasn't about to make this easy. not when she could have some fun. "not usually." repeated quietly as her hand slipped down to rest against her chest. she liked being this close to her. the power that came with it. "not exactly what a girl wants to hear," she pulls back but the smile remains; playful and eager. "come on, megan, just admit you're into me. no one would blame you."
it wasn't usual for megan to let this side of her be seen , she was usually very self-guarded about her private life and who got to see it. but she was wasted, it was the weekend and she couldn't give two fucks. willow was attractive and megan couldn't deny it, her young free spirit was contagious and megan craved more of it, leaning closed onto willow's lips. ' not usually but - tonight is different. . . '

willow was beginning to wonder how exactly maya had even ended up amongst her little gaggle of freeloading friends. clearly, they shared connections but she was just so jarringly different. like she'd somehow stumbled upon them like a lost little puppy instead of being brought along. the blonde was still trying to decide if that was a good thing or not. "shame," she quipped although she hadn't been expecting anything. if she actually wanted to get high there were plenty of realistic options.
a crowded bar that not even willow could clear, the blonde pushed her way straight to the front. patience wasn't exactly her forte and the dirty looks didn't bother her. "oh, how... exciting," no attempt to hide the sarcasm in her voice. she could not imagine wanting to be around all these people completely sober. nothing sounded worse right now. "what do you want then? better make it good" she asked before focusing on getting the bartender's attention.
willow moved with such confidence and maya felt like a fish out of water. she made sure to stay close to willow as they navigated through the crowd, the press of people around them almost overwhelming. maya's eyes were wide and darting around the room, searching for something — though she wasn’t quite sure what. but then willow spoke, and her attention snapped right back to the blonde beside her. she couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled out at willow’s words. "fefinitely the former," she replied, raising her voice just enough to be heard over the noise.
maya wasn’t much of a drinker, and she certainly wasn’t the type to let loose and get completely wasted, especially not in a public place where anything could happen. "i don’t drink often," she admitted, glancing toward the bar. "but one won’t hurt, right?" she tried to sound more confident than she felt. it wasn’t like she’d never had a drink before, but out in public with strangers, well, she couldn’t help but be cautious. trust didn’t come easily to her.

willow followed their gaze as their attention slipped away for a moment. maybe they really were looking for someone else and just stumbled across her. she was beautiful enough to stop anyone in their tracks so it made sense. "not a crime," she insists. "just a waste of both our times. you know how many times I've been asked if I'm a model or an angel or... whatever? kinda over it at this point."
"but i... did..." arden pauses for a moment to glance around, still not spotting anyone that she's familiar with before letting her focus land back on willow. "is it such a crime for me to pay you a compliment?" she crosses her arms over her chest as she looks the other woman up and down. "i'm sure you get plenty of them, and all."
