Because she was beautiful, no one paid attention to anything she said. And that made things so my easier. For a little while. Then, the nights became darker, her cries became louder, and the light behind her eyes stopped glowing. That pretty face, that spirit, that shell. Stopped. She stopped, and I guess it made things a little harder for all of us.
