i replaced the battery on my old laptop nearly 2 years ago, knowing it wouldn't last too long (it was slightly the wrong model! they don't make the right ones anymore) and now it's rapidly dying. my laptop was used when i got it so between those 2 things it's not really running games anymore. it /does/ run the old sci-fi/horror game i have no mouth and i must scream so that is what i am playing now. i heard once that some emulators actually slow your computer down to play old games bc some old games' timing depended on older slower systems...i wonder if that's related to why i can still run this one game?

anyway, i am playing it now, it's pretty weird. i am not sure i would recommend it but it feels like an important piece of context for all the point and click/narrative games i like so much. i'm kinda psyched to read some essays about it after i'm done!
