Iddy Issett. 33 year old vampire. Or is it 3 year old vampire? Is it, like, a new life now? Ah fuck it who cares.

lasirenaelena:
“Well of course you couldn’t stay away,” she responded as if it was the most natural thing ever, “This town is unlike any other.” That was the whole reason she decided to stay here in the first place, so it made perfect sense to her that he would come back after having gone away for a while.
The waitress came over and Iddy asked if she still took salt and she nodded, “Yup. Salt is the best, but I’m getting better with other flavors and tastes now. I’ll have a coffee,” and she was about to ask for salt but saw the salt and pepper shakers at the edge of the table, so she didn’t mention it. The waitress simply smiled and nodded and then went away to grab a mug for Elena and bring over the pot to fill up both of their mugs.
“Hi Iddy,” the young mermaid smiled brightly at him. “And yes, a hotel. I live there with Iann. He co-owns it with Freddie. So much has happened since you’ve been gone. There’s going to be so much to tell you about! And then you have to tell me about the place you went to, even if it was clearly super lame compared to here.”
“It really is,” Iddy said, not even trying to hide the fact even though he was sat awkwardly wondering what to do, he was immensely happy to be back. “I really missed it here, it’s weird how someplace can feel like home so quickly,”
It was good to see some things hadn’t changed. Iddy wasn’t sure how much a town could change it a matter of a few months, but it was still refreshing to know that the little quirks were still there. He thanked the waitress, and after said to Elena, “What are you doing in here so late at night?”
“Iann and Freddie opened a hotel?” Iddy said, the surprise clear in his voice. He wondered what venture Iann might have gotten into after Mal Ojo was destroyed, but the hospitality business probably wasn’t the first thing he’d think of. Unless, of course, Iann also had some underground project tide to the hotel. “I thought I’d have to catch up on a lot of stuff. Where I’ve been? Yeah...it kind of was lame. I went back home, to my parents. It...well, it did exactly turn out to be the ‘everything exactly the way it used to be’ like I’d hoped,”

Iann couldn’t help but breathe out a sigh of relief as Iddy, did, well. Iddy-things. His gigantic eyes, his whispered smile, even his use of ‘chill’ and ‘bro’. It was just all so intensely familiar that it was almost overwhelming. Almost.
Iddy wasn’t just a memory of Iddy - he was embedded into that part of Iann’s mind that horded precious memories of Mal Ojo, of his wife, of Iddy his lodger. It was all tied together - and Iddy Issett seemed like the only tangible thing left of those time/place/feelings/memories.
Fuck me!! Fuck the big city, yeah, man. Yeah….I missed you too.” It was never hard to talk feelings with Iddy for some reason - if they ever really spoke at all. Strange how someone’s presence could have such an impact without actually saying a word. Especially for chatty-ass Iann. “Soapberry missed you! Bellamy did, I know Dani did. Asshole…” Iann grinned and smacked Iddy’s arm.
“So what happened with the family back in New York? I - geeze! There’s nothing in the fridge right now other than some frozen blood packs and I think a frozen tuna in the freezer. I - hold on - “ Iann headed to the scant cupboards (mostly just dishes, like an Air BnB) and rapped on the back of one which opened a secret panel. He pulled out a bottle of something that looked like brandy. Iann grinned.
“This is some brandy made by some fancyass coven in France. I think Dani hid it there for emergencies.” He nabbed a couple glasses. “Sit down and tell me everything.”
Iann was more taken aback by Iddy’s arrival than Iddy had been expecting. Although, he didn’t really know what he was expecting. But in Iann fashion, he wanted to know what went down.
“I probably should have made more of an effort,” Iddy said, feeling that slight pang of guilt in his chest. He really did miss everyone, and everything about Soapberry, which was probably the reason why he was reluctant to keep in contact. He thought he wanted to be in New York with his family and the life he was forced to leave, but he’d grown roots far too deep in Soapberry.
Iddy just watched and smirked as Iann darted around for whatever it was he wanted. It was refreshing to see, like nothing much had changed since he went. Sitting back down on the couch, Iddy wracked his brain for where to start. “I...not a whole lot really. I mean, I had to deal with coming up with a consistent story as to why I was gone for so long, you know, for the people who didn’t know. Then, there was my Dad trying to find things on the cult, contacting his friends in the field and giving me mad anxiety because, hell, I let to keep them safe and there’s my Dad, trying to dig his own grave”

Iddy hugged Rein back just as tightly. It felt good to be welcomed back because he wasn’t so sure he would be. He made very little effort to keep in touch, but he ended up being so wrapped up being back in New York that he barely had a chance. “I’m sorry I didn’t call or text or anything,” he said, really meaning his apology.
“Why don’t you come and take a seat with me? I’m not exactly in any rush to go anywhere. Tell me what I’ve missed,”

ashcaplan:
Ash smirked, amused at the reply, the matter-of-factness of it all. I’m not lost actually. Classic. Just shut him right down. He really did enjoy when people posed challenges to him, so long as they didn’t challenge too much. Just enough to be amusing, that was the sweet spot. “Well hey buddy, if you used to live here in this diner, I wouldn’t expect you to still be alive. I mean, the food is alright and all, but not something to live on, you know what I mean?” He said the words plainly, at regular volume, not specifically loud enough so that he was aiming for the staff to hear him, but not low enough that he was deliberately trying to hide it either. “I’m just gonna need some top dollar stakes and gumbo every once in a while, you know what I’m saying?” He winked, his smile still hadn’t faded.
“There are more ways than one to be lost, buddy. Existentially, philosophically, emotionally… to name just a few, and you’re probably teetering on at least two out of three right there. Come on, I just got good instincts about people.” He folded his arms across his chest, making himself comfortable in the booth. “Well, to answer your question, I was just wandering around, exploring this beautiful little town you got here. A supernatural bar on every corner! It’s amazing. And it keeps going all night. Even better. But I’m a fickle sort, and I like to find entertainment in unexpected places.” Ash sipped his coffee, eyeing Iddy over the rim of it. “I suppose I just thought you would make for an interesting conversation.”
“Either that or I’d gain so much weight that I’d be stuck in this booth forever...and then probably die” Iddy laughed. He decided to omit the fact he didn’t really eat food, but maybe the conversation of drinking blood would be too much for so late at night. Iddy was trying to figure out who this person was. Humans, vampires, and werewolves were easy, they were all so different, but other species he struggled with. He wasn’t getting much of a fae vibe, there tended to be a strange electricity around them, so an ocean-based being was all that was left.
The stranger wasn’t wrong. Iddy was always teetering on some kind of internal crisis, but mostly because he never wanted to bother anyone with anything so they all just built up inside until he exploded. “Probably, but I think that’s just become my way of living now so I barely notice it. I mean, aren’t our own problems the worst things in the world? We’re the stars of our own show, after all”
“The bars are pretty amazing around here,” he agreed, while also hoping to grovel for his old job back at Erzbets. Iddy smiled and nodded, staring down at his own coffee mug that was half empty, “You’re right, I am pretty interesting. Hi, I’m Iddy. I’m a 34-year-old vampire being pursued by a cult, with a touch of anxiety and OCD. And who are you?”

Do you think Bella is a good Head Girl or do you think someone else could have been better? If so, who?
“Bella is the best head girl. There wasn’t really going to be anyone else being head girl. We might be in different houses, but I’ve always thought she was awesome”

What house were your parent/s in or are they muggles?
“My mother was in Gryffindor and my dad is a muggle. Which is why my sister thinks she’s better than I am because she’s a pureblood witch and I’m only half-blood. But, I think if my dad was a wizard, he’d have been in Ravenclaw because he’s the smartest person I’ve ever met”

roisin-abbott:
One thing that Roisin didn’t like about being a vampire was how boring it could be sometimes. While everyone else was sleeping or going to bars or whatnot she usually found herself watching late night television or reading a book. Tonight was no different. After laying on her couch watching a few movies for a couple of hours, she grew bored. Glancing at the clock, she knew calling someone to hang out was out of the question. It was the middle of the night after all so instead she grabbed her keys and wallet. Might as well find somewhere to hang out for a few hours.
After driving around for a bit, she ended up at one of the few places open at that time that wasn’t a bar: the 24hr diner in town. Ordering a cup of coffee, she glanced around and spotted one of the few customers. She took a seat across from him. “So what’s your story? Usually it’s only drunks, creeps, or insomniacs at the diner at this hour. Most everyone else is at a bar or home,” She joked.
Iddy looked up from his phone as he sensed someone coming near. He didn’t recognize the woman, but when he wasn’t sure who he wanted to see first, it was almost a better bet.
A subtle smile hit Iddy’s lips. He thought to himself that there was only one of those things that he wouldn’t mind being. “Well, hopefully, I’m not a creep,” he said, flipping his phone around in his hand. “I’m more like some guy who came back to town without a plan and without telling anybody. So, now I’m sat in a diner, with no idea what to do next,”
“But, sob stories aside, what are you doing here, if you aren’t a drunk, creep or insomniac”

thisbrutalbelle:
Since being kidnapped a week before Halloween with Iann Bellamy had been bringing Boss to work with her. It helped with her nerves, not enjoying the thought of being in any room alone just yet. Besides that he had been away from her for a week and seemed to have no desire to leave her now that he’d been reunited with his owner. So while she sat, typing away on her computer, staring directly at the screen with her golden gaze, Boss rested in her lap, sitting on her crossed legs and snoring rather loudly.
Atune since what had happened to approaching feet however, it was not odd for Boss to jump out of her lap every time someone walked close enough to her door and bound up to the door expecting someone to walk through, ready to nip at their feet if he senses anything untoward about them. Most times he would return without the door opening, sometimes trotting back when Naomi or another employee entered the door.
So when he bound off this time, claws scratching at the floor as he ran up to it Bellamy did not look up until she heard the door itself open, gaze flicking from projection estimates to…Iddy. Immediately she stood, laughing as she heard his words. Not sensing danger Boss had not begun to bark but did bounce around the two vampire’s feet as Bellamy pushed out of her chair and was by his side at a vampiric speed, wrapping slender arms around his form. “Always looking when it’s you,” she assured him, squeezing.
Iddy hugged Bella tightly to him, sighing as he did so. It felt good to be back, like he was back home. “I missed you,” he said, rolling his eyes at himself.
Iddy didn’t know much of anything from after he left. He felt guilty for how little he tried to keep in contact with everyone, and after a while, he felt like he’d left it too long. He worried that no one would care if he came back or not, or that no one would accept him back. But, it seemed like at least he still had Bellamy’s approval.
“I’m sorry I didn’t keep in contact much while I was gone,” he said as he pulled away from the hug, kneeling down slightly to quickly pet Boss on the head, “Want me to make you a drink? For old times sake?”

ianncardero:
There were still some things Iann had left behind at the loft, knowing there was no pressure to nab them. Still, when he had a spare moment he returned to Dani’s building, hopping up the stairs with a cheery nonsense-whistle as he barged into the place and careened towards the kitchen. Iann gave a cursory glance over the rest of the place as he crossed towards the kitchen. Call it instinct, really - just a habit to observe any space Iann entered, ensuring everything was still as he’d last left it. No walls knocked down, no ominous writing in blood on the wall, no creepy person in black hiding in the corner and watching him. Typical things that anyone idly looked for when entering a place, Iann figured.
The irony being, that he did see the person in black, sitting on the couch. Iann literally looked over Iddy, saw the small vampire seated there. His brain likely registered that yes - that was Iddy Issett - but hadn’t quite caught up to the fact that Iddy Issett wasn’t supposed to be sitting there on the couch.
So Iann got to the open concept kitchen first, before his whistling slowed and then he did too. And then Iann took a couple steps backwards and looked over at the couch again. A very laborious double-take.
“….Iddy?” Iann said, as if unsure it was actually the man. Could anyone blame Iann? This was Soapberry - weird shit happened here all the time and the most reasonable explanation - that Iddy was actually back - could be one of a dozen reasonable explanations. But the closer Iann got the more it seemed like Iddy wasn’t a ghost or a figment or a cardboard cut-out. It was, undeniably –
“Holy shit - Iddy!!!” Iann exclaimed, swooping down to grab the vampire up into his arms, giving him a little shake. "What the hell, dude?!“
When he heard someone come in, he worried for a moment that it wasn’t going to be who he wanted it to be. That is would be some stranger moved in that Dani was renting to. But it wasn’t, it was Iann. The first person he met in Soapberry, his first friend, and roommate. Iddy couldn’t find the words at first, just looked Iann him wide-eyed. He probably would have said something, hadn’t it been for the fact that Iann nonchalantly went about his business like nothing was amiss.
A grin spread across Iddy’s face as he watched Iann slowly come to the realization that he was there. At the first call of his name, Iddy gently let out a “Hey,” half whispered with a hint of relief. As he was being shaken by his friend, he grabbed him by the shoulder’s and said “Whoa, chill! I came back! I guess I’m not the big city boy I thought I was,”
Iddy let out a long sigh, a smile still on his face as he said “I missed you, bro

Iddy had been sure that the loft looked different the last time he was there. He wanted to surprise his friends by just showing up at the door but the loft felt eerily empty. Like it had been empty for a while.
It still had mostly the same stuff in it, but it was different, somehow, in a way he couldn’t quite figure out. Clearly nobody had dusted in a while, the familiar scent of the rooms was subtle now and the personal touches left around from his roommates weren't there anymore. The loft was...unlived in.
He didn’t bother going into his old room. He took everything with him, and even that wasn’t much. Iddy threw his bag onto the ground, and sat himself down on the sofa, wondering what he should do, and half hoping that someone would come home.

Iddy missed working at Erzbets a lot more than he had expected. He had made his own little family there, and used work as a form of escapism. Nobody bothered him while he worked, and he was able to just focus on that.
So when he entered Erzbets for the first time since coming back, he was greeted by his old colleagues, some wanting to hug him, and other just simply nodding in his directions.
Making his way up to the office, he lightly knocked on Bellamy’s door and gently pushed it open. “Hey, I’m wondering if you were hiring any bartenders?” he said a bright smile on his face as he pushed open the door.

lasirenaelena:
For a long time, Elena just sat there staring at him. She was pretty blatant about it as well. If he had looked up from his phone and at the woman seated at the booth directly opposite him, he would have seen her staring directly at him. Her brows her knitted together and she stared at him curiously, racking her brain because she knew his face but what was his name again? It was something different, something unique. Elena chewed on her lower lip, convinced it was going to bother her for the rest of her week if she didn’t figure it out. So she stood up and crossed to his booth to sit directly across from him.
There, she propped her elbows up on the table and leaned over, staring at him curiously until finally it clicked and she exclaimed with a bright smile, “Iddy! It is you, isn’t it? I thought it must be! I haven’t seen you around the school in so long! Or anywhere at all, really,” she waved a hand through the air as she spoke. “How have you been? What have you been doing? I’ve been keeping very busy myself. I’ve moved into a hotel. Isn’t that just grand? You know, I read a list of old sayings and phrases and I’ve found that I really liked some of them, and I was sad they weren’t said anymore, so I’m going to try and bring some back. So I’m saying things are grand now instead of great or awesome.”
He trapped inside his own head for a long while sat at that booth. At the best of times, he found it hard keeping his thoughts straight, but Iddy hadn’t realised how quite as anxious returning to Sapberry would make him.
He was surprised when someone sat across from him, but when he looked up he recognised her instantly, but it took Elena a second to recognise him. Before he could say anything, she was already chatting away. He smiled gently as she spoke, feeling somewhat strange. Elena was exactly as she was before, no judgement just pure curiousity.
Iddy smiled a little more as he listen to her talk about her life, trying to follow along. “A hotel? That’s pretty awesome...I mean...grand,” he laughed a little, “I...moved away for a while. But, I’m back now. Just now, actually. I guess I just couldn’t stay away for too long,” Just before Iddy could really feel that pang of sadness and guilt, a waitress came over and offered more coffee. “You still take salt?” he asked, his mouth cocking up into a smile, “Oh, and hi, Elena,”

strangerein:
It was no surprise Rein was up at the latest possible hours. He didn’t really live with certain kind of schedule, he slept when he was sleepy and if he felt awake he might stay up the whole night. He didn’t have any reasons to be up at certain time or be somewhere even less, so the nymph really lived rather freely with his doings and goings.
He was just walking around, walking past a diner like he often did on these night walks of his. Usually there really weren’t anyone in the diner at this time, other than the waitress or waiter, or the cook, but now there was someone and that was the reason why Rein glanced towards the diner’s windows. It was just a glance and Rein was about to continue his way, but then the realisation hit him – he knew the man. He knew him. He had to take a second look to make sure he wasn’t seeing things(wouldn’t be the first time if he did..). But he really did see it right. It really was Iddy. Rein walked closer to the window and knocked on the glass.
The knock on the window made Iddy look up suddenly. He didn’t have much chance to register what he was seeing at first, reacting only to the noise and taking a moment to realise what caused it. Then, a small smile crept across his lips.
He stood up and walked over to the doorway of the diner, wanting to say something but feeling like a simple hello might be too casual for a friend he hadn’t seen in quite a while. “I thought it’d be more fitting for me to sneak back into town the middle of the night. You know me, I don’t like fuss,”
