I was a forced (by family) closeted homosexual

I used to watch Supergirl around my “used to be” homophobic parents. My biological mother would sit and watch the show with me sometimes and blatantly ask if Kara and Lena were together. Not to be rude. She was trying to understand the show and my fangirling towards Kara and Lena. (at least I hoped at the time). Every time she asked, I said no. Without fail, every time she would then follow it up with irritation of, ‘well straight friends don’t act like that’ or ‘are you sure?’

It was then I realized her “trying to understand” meant she really did. Without realizing it she sympathized with me and that moment, I’ll never forget. This woman had raised me to hate gays (myself) and was now angry that we weren’t being properly represented…

“Do Revenge” and ”Luckest Girl Alive” are such amazing movies. Netflix really has outdone themselves again.

These films hit home as someone who knows women who are victims of Rape, Gun Violence and leaked personal videos, I really suggest you guys watch these films. The meaning behind Luckest Girl Alive is so heartfelt and touching. I cried
