This gutted me. The way Matt is begging them not to take it there. He answered that door knowing they'd hurt him. Knowing he wouldn't fight back. But when he realizes they're gonna kill him, he knows what will happen to them. Knows that once he lets loose on them he won't stop until there's nothing left, and he doesn't want that. Doesn't want to let the Devil out. He's begging them not to for their sakes (and the sake of his soul), not for his own life.
