god this ask is flattering and i wish i could give you poems, but i'm more of a plays + lyrics person.... that line from antigone haunts haunts haunts me. the deeply horrific history that twists literally everyone.. her sister's revoltingly human weakness.. her rage.. the divine melodrama... thrilling and cathartic

out of despair for a medium fairly incompatible with capitalism poetry put to music tends to be where i find all my faves jdjfkgkg. id even write if not for that. the brothel by susanne sundfør for the way she wails through that last chorus, neglected space by imogen heap. not about the words but theres poetry in the accompaniment piano in gretchen am spinnrade, that one tumblr post thats like, "i am asking you to endure it"

or if none of those answers are sufficient, that one wild geese poem everyone who grew up on tumblr knows - "you do not have to be good. you only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves" - which did actually help me a little while, but not so much anymore. still beloved to me even if i dont feel as strongly about it as i do antigone so idk if i truly want to answer with that. it feels like a cop out

if i had a partner i would wake them up right now and i would say babe wake up im thinking about the plants that went extinct in the kt boundary comet blast again. babe the world has ended 1 million times and i want to grieve for every single one of them and its really messed up except for immediately after the kt extinction event when the ferns had so much sex they left an observable stripe of spore-dense matter fossilized in the rock forever, like that part was kinda funny. i think i have a stmoach ulcer again btw
