I thought I should post this Monster Falls au sketch dump that I’ve been working on before the finale airs. I didn’t get around to drawing every form people had suggested (like mermaid Stan and Deertaur Ford) and I wanted to have more sketches than just these, but at least there are plenty of sphinx Dips. c’:

GF AU - The Beast’s Sweater

Another commission for @elishevart!!! Seriously, this gal has helped me so much, THANK YOU! I loved getting to know her Beast of Gravity Falls AU better, and you guys should seriously check it out! It’s really good!

The morning after secrets were revealed, Mabel decides that someone deserves a homemade sweater.

Mabel was usually awake between six and seven o’clock in the morning; that was not abnormal. She started each morning rubbing Waddles’ belly, going to the kitchen for a glass of Mabel Juice, and would sit on either the couch on the porch or in front of the TV to knit her sweater for the day; all of this was pretty standard Mabel-behavior. What was a little unusual about this morning was the fact that she was luring a huge six-toed Griffin out of the basement, cooing softly as the beast happily followed the girl.

I’m sure you were all worried about Ford and Stan. But don’t worry! I’m pretty sick right now so I literally have nothing better to do with my time than draw another part!

Okay- there’s two things I’d like to address.

1: I just love how even though Stanford is asleep, He can still sense when there’s a possible danger nearby. Ford is completely crashed- and yet he can feel Stan and him are being disturbed. He’s conscious enough to know that something is touching his face, and most likely touching his brothers face too. But he’s too unconscious to actually wake up and protect them. So he just hugs Stan in his sleep, kind’a saying, “You touch him again, and you better run when I wake up.”

2: PLEASE TELL ME YOU NOTICED THE TINY LITTLE DETAIL I PUT IN OF STAN WHOLEHEARTEDLY SMILING IN THE LAST PANEL WHEN HE GETS A HUG FROM FORD- EVEN THOUGH HE IS ALSO 100% ASLEEP

If you're going to do sketches, maybe one of them will be the Author Stan au? I know this will sound strange, but I really love their mom (Caryn) from this story. Maybe something sad? Like Ford's funeral? Or something else? I just want more Caryn💖

The two people Ford hurt the most. And, Ironically, the two people he was trying the hardest to protect.

Ah yes. This probably makes zero sense out of context, but have some angst anyways.

Long story short: This is from the newest chapter of my Author Stan fic. Ford's entire family thinks he's dead, and for their safety he let's them keep believing it.

And then he runs into Ma at Stan's graduation after four years.

She doesn't recognize him.

"I'm going to pretend that I think you're joking, because otherwise I might have to do the 'responsible parent thing' and scold you."

Had this bit of dialogue pop into my head and it wouldn't leave.

I'm imagining that Sherman does end up getting drafted. He leaves his little brother's his apartment and makes them promise to look after each other, they're almost legally adults, and it's either they take care of each other or they're sent back home.

Sherman survives (I'm not that cruel), but being without him for the years he's gone is not an easy adjustment. But, sharing in that trauma of almost losing their closest parental figure and just generally being less emotionally stunted thanks to a lack of Filbrick's influence causes the twins to not drift apart like in canon. Ford is just as scared of being separated as Stan is.

Mayberry: Charlie, will you keep it down!

Charlie:*glares at Mayberry. Points at her without looking her in the eyes* I’m not ready to talk to you yet, young lady!
