Bad but Favorite theory about Mizu's dad: he's Japanese.

There's nothing you can do to that will make me not love it. It's a twist that plays on the already-presemt themes of power, race, and gender, and it upends her worldview.

I enjoy the reversal of Mizu going on an extensive revenge quest to kill an evil man who she thinks barged into the country and forced her into existence, only to find out she is the daughter of a trafficked white girl sold to a powerful Japanese man.

Let me share something with you all

I find it so funny the discourse about Taigen and how he is sooo irredeemable and can't be with Mizu... I mean I don't know if I'm coming from a too radical background but when I was a teen I loved Sasuke Uchiha... yes that Sasuke who betrayed the people who loved him the most more times we can count even if he was justified in his destructive rage.

I don't know if it is because my heart belongs to Vlad Dracula Tepes who is a bastard murderous vampire who ends up being the most attentive, devoted and loving husband and father until the Church burns his wife to death and he goes absolutely insane in a bloodlusted revenge and tries to kill everybody in Castlevania. And he still redeems himself by the hands of his son and is forgiven by his wife. Like this man is EVIL and I still would s*** his d*** so hard he'd see God even tho he went to hell.

So when I see people talk about Taigen being terrible I am always like "huh?"... I mean Taigen whose worst mistake was being an agressive child in an agressive environment and an arrongant and loud little asshole as an adult? That man who had the opportunity to kill Mizu twice while she was down and chose not to do it, the one who endured days of brutal torture for the sake of a rival that took everything he had? An honourable and loyal fool is what he is, and yes he still has considerable growth to go through, but like you don't understaaaand I'm not even trying to excuse his bad behaviour I'm only making it clear that in my house he could be so much worse (!!!!) and he could still get it😇

Maybe I'm morally reprehensible, but Taigen is not even that bad, so is he irredeemable? Nah.
