Last night, I finished up one last Art Fight submission, trying my hand at something new with lineless work. I otherwise used a lot of the same techniques as usual, believe it or not! This lil' guys name is Bentley and he belongs to AF use Sayoko!

An art fight friendly fire attack for

@daisyhooves's plushie mouse character, Beans! I love circus themed things and this was a lil' circus themed mouse, so I just HAD to do it!

Made a new Art Fight attack of someone's mouse-sona! They go by Storm / Maya and I would tag them here, but I don't know how to tag them here on Tumblr yet and I'm too lazy to look it up.

Still, here ya go! Left is their character in my style, right is their character I referenced. Such a cute design!

As I continue my New Art Resolution, the year where I get back into art after over a decade of not drawing anything, I decided to push myself in a new direction and try branching out a bit. So I signed up for Art Fight. No idea what to do or how to get started, I found myself quickly art attacked by a user who did a quick doodle of one of my mouse characters!

In turn, I'm drawing their mouse character, Setcha! They had some restrictions on what they prefer, perhaps even a bit too much, but I decided to take it as a challenge and swap things up from how I normally draw my corn-headed cartoon mice.

This is the result of a night of doodling. Not the finished product, but thought it looked good enough to at least share! Gonna finish it up tomorrow, maybe! If I don't get carried away (which I probably will).

-Super Jepewdal Mario-

Y'know what's really weird? Zelda came out earlier this year and there's this character named Maestro who bears a strong resemblence to my elephant, Jepewdal. Short, round, an entertainer of some kind, kind of a big nose, and stripes on his design. Then later, Nintendo announces Super Mario Bros. Wonder and now MARIO TURNS INTO AN ELEPHANT.

It's super weird, but also strangely flattering! It feels partially like they're copying my character design, yet gives me vibes that the character design I have for Jepewdal must have a pretty strong foundation if Nintendo has made characters with similar features in the past year! So here we are, I drew Jepewdal dressed up as Mario!

-Glory to Mouster Kohga-

I dunno, man. I wanted to try something new and different, using a bunch of private doodles and practices with these neato brushes I downloaded and put it into something much higher quality. So I turned Master kohga from Zelda into a mouse and tried to somewhat emulate the style, while also going off in my own direction.

I personally think these results is rather bananas!

-Bait 'n' Switch-

A comic illustrating a joke I lifted from Gravity Falls. I also may or may not have stopped drawing for some period of time during the creation of this comic for some absolutely mysterious and unknown reason.

-Jepewdal Running-

A little illustration of my favorite elephant boy, Jepewdal! An entirely original work, I'm quite proud of how it looks. I started dabbling in downloading other brushes for Clip Studio Paint and used one called the "Amber Crayon," if I recall correctly, to properly fill this thing in.

A lil' backstory on Jepewdal, he's a character who first came to me in a dream on Nov. 22nd, 2019. I was home sick from work with a nasty fever and this lil' man was the star of the dream! It came as 2D Metroidvania game where he was trying to save his father's circus from the clutches of an Insurance Agent Mouse. You had to make use of Jepewdal's oversized trunk in order to perform acrobatic feats to clear challenges and solve puzzles!

As for the name, how did I come up with it? What does it mean? I have no idea. When I had that dream, that was just his name: "Jepewdal." As far as things go, it is entirely jibberish, yet also so unique and different that I just never changed it! Same thing with his design; I didn't do massive retweeks of his look, as this is just how the lil' man was! I'm quite proud of him, he's a good boy.

-Big Fish-

This is more a story based on an interaction I had with some young new hire years ago. They were clearly trying to act far tougher than what they were, that they're a real tough "thug life" kind of guy to a person who has an adorable little mouse as their fursona.

But everyone is gansta until they hear my bathroom fish story.

-It Plays Laserdisc-

A theme you may see in coming works from here is that while I don't often find myself with a lot of time on my hands to do more in-depth work, I may make quick little comics about working retail and the like.

Rest assured, my service skills are thankfully top notch. But that doesn't mean I sometimes have my own inner monologue where I want to just throttle people at times, either.

-Cody Mosstoil-

April of 2023, I wanted to start using a character to represent me and while I love my character, Iam, I want him to be his own mouse and not be a stand-in presentation. He was always meant to be his own character with his own tale.

So I drafted out and created Cody Mosstoil (as in toils in moss. Moss toil). The first name is my own with the last name referencing my real last name, but not quite there as to completely reveal my identity. My last name is pretty unique and very rare, as I've never met anyone who had the last name and wasn't related to me (and meeting anyone who was by chance never happened either).

-RE4 Mouse Ashley-

Agrimora on Twitter accidentally hit viral status by recreating Ashley from the newly released Resident Evil 4 Remake as a mouse. I came across it pretty quick and decided while on my breaks at work, I'd redraw her in my style pretty quick!

Not much effort was put into it because it had yet to hit massive viral status. If I knew it was going where it was, perhaps I would've put more effort into this. But ah well, it was still just fun to do!

A quick comic I put together in March of 2023, featuring my character Iam (because I hadn't made my own mouse-sona character yet). I wanted to have a little tongue-in-cheek gag about how as a completely unknown artist, I've got a lot road ahead of me and may never even become massively popular.

But y'know what? That's completely fine. I'm just doing these anymore for my own amusement anyway.
