TIPS FOR PREPARING FOR AN ONLINE OR VIDEO CALL INTERVIEW: A STEP BY STEP GUIDE AND WHAT TO WEAR (FASHION INSPIRATION) https://ift.tt/3btujJD

Quote of the Day: Be not thou far from me, O LORD:  O my strength, make haste thee to help me.-Psalm 22:19. Today I am taking you on a step by step guide on how to make a successful video call or online interview based on my own personal experience. Disclaimer: I am not a video call interview expert, but I am a HR professional. As schools and most offices are gradually reopening, more firms are recruiting. Some people are new to the world of video call interviews, and I created this step by step guide post to help them be less anxious about their online/video call interview.  You are probably here because you scaled through the first round and secured yourself an interview. Congratulations! Evaluate: Your strengths and weaknesses, go through you personal statement, and the job description in order to mentally prepare yourself. Remember, you gat this! Also, go through the firm's website, and have at least three questions you want to ask your panel at the end of the interview (don't be like me who last year lost out on a job I poured my energy into because I was too excited at the end of the interview and forgot to ask the panel a question). What to Wear: it is not news that the world we live in judges a book by its cover. That initial first impression based on your outift is key. Although, what you wear can also honestly depend on the role you have applied for. Something I'll tell you for free is to look professional, like you actually made the effort to prepare for the panel or board interviewing you. A well ironed crisp white shirt and a blazer A covered up dress (again depending on the role you applied for, we are not turning up, we are securing the bag that will avail us the opportunity to turn up).
Official top and a skirt or lounge wear/pyjama bottoms (depending on how you position your camera 🙃). Hair: I always find that securing your hair together at the back, in a bun, or ponytail away from your face is always great because it enables you make eye contact with the panel.
Bonus tip: look at the lens of your camera and not the screen. Makeup: I suggest you go for a soft glam, barely there look. Depending on the role you applied for, your makeup should not be over the top. If you need inspiration I highly suggest this video (here). Just before your interview: Breathe in and out. And try to practice mindfulness to prevent you from panicing or having an episode of anxiety. Remember, you scaled through the first round, babe you have potential. I find secretly nibbling on a quarter piece of mint helpful. Also, use the loo and empty your bowel beforehand so that you are not distracted by the pressing call of nature when the video call interview starts. I wish you the absolute best. Don't forget to smile!

MARKS AND SPENCER BRA HAUL AND REVIEW https://ift.tt/2ZJayti

Psalm 18:3-4 KJV
I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
As promised in my YouTube video, I have reviewed some bras I got from Marks and Spencer aka M&S. I've found that at my local M&S store most of the staff there are very welcoming to me. If you're reading, hi Saima! In today's bra review blog post, my houseplant Oliver makes a cameo as a prop for the bra flatlays.
The camera did not pick the second colour of this bra set well. The one at the back is not black or navy, it's maroon red. I absolutely love this colour. If you watched my Primark haul video, you are aware I made the choice to start including colour in my lingerie. However, I couldn't help it, and still picked up some neutral coloured bras from Marks and Spencer.
If you missed my youTube video you can watch it here.

Generally speaking, the pros of these bras are:
Very high fabric quality. The fabric is thick and feels luxurious.
The bra straps are thick enough for support, but slender enough not to peek out or leave nasty lines on your skin.
Cons:
The issue I have with these bras are that the strap circumference is very small. Almost as if they were made only for skinny girls with big boobs. Okay bye.
See you in my next post, thank you for reading. Please share this post with your friends and family.

Psalm 103:12 KJV- As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Hi guys, today I bring you some outfit inspiration for when you finally decide to party, or just grab a drink. These outfits can also pass for date night outfit inspiration 🙃.
My heels are from Primark check out my haul video on YouTube if you missed it here is it just me or do they also remind you of Rejina Pyo sandals? My wristwatch is a gift from my mummy, they're from the brand Amica.
Side view of the outfit.

I love the cool feel of this fabric and the fact that it stretches. It also reminded me of something Kim Kardashian wore.
I paired it with these boat shoes just because. I prefer boat shoes to ballerina flats because they give off a bit of elegance and sophistication; but that's just my thoughts. I like to pair them with trousers.
Love the colour of this dress. It is the same fabric as the first one. My extra self threw on a raincoat over it and went shopping with it.
The fact that this top covers my bum is an instant bonus point for Femme Luxe. I paired it with a pair of white flats because that's what I'll wear to dash to the store, but pairing them with heels will definitely bring out their party or date night nature. For more on these white flats, check this video here.

I like the ribbed fabric. I'm not sure whether I prefer them with or without the belt 🤔
I really like this dress. It reminds me of the saying pick your battles it's covered up at the back, cleavage and arms but gives off feminine energy below. It also has a flap on the lower part.
PS: If you don't have good sitting posture stay away, it can be a bit scandalous though.
You get a better view of the neck of this date night dress in this picture. I paired the dress with my boat shoes here.

Psalm 40:5 KJV
Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned b up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
Welcome, distinguished! I went to Primark on the day it opened here to have a look and pick some items I had run out of and needed to restock. How are you doing? Seriously, I hope you're coping, or at least trying to?
Mist of these items has summer written all over them. Which ones do you like the most?
Let me know your thoughts about the video. Please don't forget to subscribe. As promised in the video, here are some photos from Primark that did not make it into the video. Enjoy... In the video you will have seen when I picked these black eyeliners.
Black cotton leggings. I got them in a size XS but quickly found out they were too tight so I got them changed to a Small.
These wipes have always been on my trial list so I got these pink ones for sensitive skin. They were on sale for 70P, and come in green, pink and blue. I found that each colour is for a particular skin type.
I like Primark press on nails. I got these ones in pink. If you've watched my previous YouTube video you'd have seen me wearing the purple matte nails.
This time around I got some press on nail glue because the one on the pack usually dries out after a while.
I was eyeing this perfume before the lockdown. It has a very nice scent.
Asides this perfume being so cute and travel size friendly, it actually has a lovely scent.
The only reason I got this nail polish is because I needed something to paint my toe nails. It's something I've fallen in love with doing this lockdown period.
Initially I bought some Duo lash glue from Primark because the one I bought from zaron cosmetics dried out. However, I had to return them because I got these ones from Superdrug 😊
I've always fancied one of these, and decided that fate brought is together hence the price drop and pink colour.
Don't ask why I got this, even I don't know. I'm thinking it'll make a good keychain.
I got this pink passport cover because I think it is very cute.
To see all of the other items I got, click on the video above. Please share this post with your friends and family.
Thank you for being here today. See you soon.
All my love,
Alexandra.

HEALTHY AND SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE TO MAKING NIGERIAN SWALLOW, FUFU, GARRI OR SEMOVITA https://ift.tt/31ZvRbZ

Isaiah 40:8
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Hello my lovelies! Today I will be showing how to make Nigerian/West African swallow. This, a healthier version of fufu, semi, garri and so on. You get the gist. It's very straightforward and you won't break bank or your wallet 🙃
Ingredients:
Oats.
Water.
Appliance: blender, turning garri (gaskiya, I've forgotten the English name for this appliance, I think it's wooden spatula), clean pot and heat.
Add equal parts of oats and water into your blending jug and blend till it is a smooth paste. If you like it rough don't make it overly smooth. I don't like sufferhead so I blend until it is very smooth.
Transfer the mixture/paste into a lot and place it on medium heat (fire). Use the wooden spatula to turn the mixture (almost as if you're making Quaker oats). At this point, DO NOT ADD WATER OR EXTRA OATS. Keep turning. You can reduce the heat to low heat if it starts burning. After 5 minutes, use the spatula to create spaces by the side of the oats as if you're making semovita. Then, add a little water and cover. Keep your eyes on it if not it will disgrace you 😂
After one minute, open the pot and give it a good stir. Off it and plate your healthy fufu/garri option. You can also wrap it like I did.
I ate it with the ofe oha my aunty packed for me. The way I had been mincing this last plate of oha soup in my freezer ehn 😂
That's today's post you guys. I hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel here. You can find me on Facebook and Insta @lilyofnigeria
I love you for reading. By the grace of God, I hope to see you soon 💕

MY PRODUCTIVE WORK FROM HOME MORNING ROUTINE | Lily of Nigeria Lockdown Series https://ift.tt/3h0nZM9

iblogwithgrace · 4 years ago
Link
Hey guys! Nowadays we are all working from home, and I've had to adapt to a productive routine working from home. I find myself waking up at 5 am, which according to some experts is a healthy morning routine. It's indeed a welcome change, and I've learnt to make the most of my extra awake time. In this blog post I am sharing my 5 am morning routine with you, which some months ago would have had me rolling with laughter. I try my best to maximize every minute of the day, and get more work done. It also helps that the sun rises pretty early here at 4 am sometimes, and other times at minutes past 5 am. Personally, from my experience I think the secret to gettingup early is sleeping early.
5 AM: Wake up, and lay in bed for a bit. I like to dress my bed once I get out of it, it keeps me calm and organized. On some days I drink my lemon and water, on other days I make sure I drink 1 litre of water and have a bath. On other days, I rush to the bathroom (do a pee), and/or have a bath, (on some days I bathe if my walk is scheduled in the evening on others I walk first, then have a bath when I get back). 5:30 AM: Exercise
To be honest, the most exercise I do is brisk walking for 4 miles, stretching my entire body (I use an app to guide me because, well 🤷🏽‍♀️). I don't know about you boo, but I am not a fan of huffing and puffing, hence, no extraordinary exercises... At this juncture I want to state that this is not a luxury pamper morning routine. We can have that post on another day, just not today, or this period.
I listen to some of my favourite podcasts sometimes while I am walking. When I get back I check my phone (go through emails, whatsApp, social media, and maybe watch one or two youtube videos). My relaxed hair is currently in the transitioning stage so I like to moisturise it once in two days. I use warm water on it while in the shower to moisturize it. Then, I apply my leave in conditioner and seal it with hair grease (you read that right sis, hair grease THANK GOD my hair is THRIVING). 7:30 AM: At this point, I go through my to-do list for the day, and have a cup of tea, or some fruits if I am feeling a bit empty in my tummy. I usually eat at 2 PM because I am not a breakfast person (never have been). I only just discovered I've been doing intermittent fasting without knowing it had a name. 8 AM: Boot my PC and get down to work. I usually have some video calls around 11 am for professional reasons.
12:00 PM: if I'm done with my video calls I'll use this time to catch up on some of my favourite shows, or just keep practicing my French and Russian.
There you have it guys, my productive work from home morning routine. If you missed my post on comfy work from home fashion inspirations, you can click here to see what I wear to work from home, nothing over the top.
