Wow! I didn't expect so much from niclays! He sounded rather fond of Jan, I wonder what happened to their romance. And I wonder what's going to happen to him and sulyard now..

Chapter seven review

AAAHH!!! I loved this chapter so so much! I loved seeing Ead and the queen interact more, and I loved seeing the softer side of Sabran. I feel like Sabran is cold hearted just for the sake of her own safety, can't get hurt if you're not too open right? And the conversation in the tower with the council members? Beautiful. I really am starting to connect more with the book. Personally, I see where combe was coming from with his scheme, but it was still positively disgusting. And I absolutely loved how Sabran was handling it. Oh! And the lady who was talking highly about Sabran as an independent woman, gives me real mother vibes.

Now to loth and kit, still not as hooked on their half of the story, but I'm in love with the mistress Melaugo! She seems so so cool. And I thought it was awesome to hear about a Wyrm flying over the ship, it was so beautifully described. I can't wait to see what more is coming

Chapter six thoughts

I honestly really love listening to Ead talk, and I love how we get to see more into her opinions on the world around her. Really wanna hear the true perspective of the story of house berethnet and the mother. I also love the use of magic to be the queens protector, I feel like there's so much to build on there. I want to read more on queen sabran as a character, she seems cold hearted and set in stone, but I'm sure that's an occupational hazard, especially considering her legacy and the pressure pushed on her from the constant threat of her life. don't really like katryn.

I'm not sure how to feel on kit and loth, but I genuinely really enjoyed the story behind the ship, and the telling of the queen mother that we got. She seems so much sweeter than Sabran, and I wonder if sabran can be that way, guess I just have to see. I loved the reference to smallpox surprisingly, I thought it was a nice touch of humanity and true events that bring me to resonate with the book more. I would also like to know more about the draconic illness, I feel like it's a really interesting concept, like what caused it?

Speaking of dragons, I'd really like to know more about the religions present. Like, a deep dive? I don't know, I'm sure there's more I have yet to read that clarifies more.
