I wish I could tell her to listen to her parents. I wish I could tell her he shouldn’t have blocked my guy friends and lied about it, and not to normalize it. I wish I could tell her everything I know now. I wish I could tell her it didn’t have to be violent to be considered traumatic. I wish I could go back and help her have the strength to press charges. I hope she’s knows I’m proud of her strength and how far she’s come.
