I just recently got this tattoo done by Jay Rode of Rose of No Mans land (Woodbury, MN). Its a monochromatic scheme of the 6 armed Buddha. These mudras (hand postioning) that the Buddha gestures depict the understanding of the religion itself. (Check out this page for more specific information) My grandfather has been sick in the hospital after serious surgery. He finally woke up the other day so I decided to get this piece done. Its to symbolize my family and their devotion to the Buddha. They all shaved their heads (even the females), went on a strict vegetarian diet, and prayed every night for a good recovery. Although I am not Buddhist, I will always realize my roots and what my family stands for. We always stand together.
