Our favorite smutty week is coming close! ♥
If you’re familiar with our Gajevy Week event, this works just the same but with the difference of focusing on the mature side of Gajeel and Levy’s relationship, going from sweet intimate interactions to full erotic situations~
As always, we want to have a safe, organized and fun experience for everyone so please take special attention to our guidelines:
※ We want to see happy, lovely, consensual sex. Everything portrayed as non-con will be ignored, so please don’t.
※ Your works do not necessarily need to be erotic in content. What does this means if we’re basically holding a porn fest? Well, there’s no need to go all the way and make it explicit if it’s out of your comfort zone. The implications are all you need sometimes to make something sexy!
※ Please tag your works with #gajevylovefest so we can reblog your work asap. Also take care of tagging your fanworks properly for anything that could be sensitive to the public.
※ We’re looking for new material, do not submit old works, please! We take as old work, fanworks that you have already published not ones that have been sitting in your desk for days, of course.
Our prompt list isn’t obligatory to follow, but merely a tool of inspiration so if you want to contribute with your own prompts, you’re very welcome to do so. You can mix and match with your own too!
✿ August 22th - August 28th  ✿

Imagine A is a morning person and B isn’t. A tries to get out of bed in the morning without waking up B, but B notices and cuddles closer to A, wrapping their arms around them so that they can stay in bed longer. A struggles and tries to roll over to escape, but only manages to get on top of B. B then grabs A’s hips and slowly grinds against them, leaving A turned on and eventually caving in to some morning sex. Bonus if it’s A’s first time on top and/or A decides to stay in bed with B afterwards.

Darcy’s Spreadsheet Outlining Method
That’s a screenshot from the outline of my current WIP. I haven’t gotten writer’s block since I started writing. If you’re still searching for the outlining method that suits you the best, give spreadsheets a try!

Imagine both members of your OTP drunk at a crowded party and they begin to flirt with each other as if they were strangers, not even realizing they’re already together. BONUS: They end up having drunken sex that night and wake up hungover but are relieved they each didn’t end up accidentally sleeping with someone else.

Nicknames
I’m a personal believer in having nicknames for most or at least all of your characters. It’s a great way to characterize them and their relationship to other people, as well as a great opportunity to set the tone for your scene.
Nicknames everyone uses: His birth certificate says Benjamin, but everyone calls him Ben. This, by itself, isn’t terribly influential on your character or anything. But I thought I’d mention it since it’s the most basic form. It does add a bit more realism if you’re in a school (or possibly work) situation, and the teacher reads Benjamin off the attendance sheet. It wouldn’t be realistic for someone to read his ID card or passport or something and call him “Ben” right off the bat. They’ll refer to him as Benjamin if that’s what he reads. It’s a tiny detail, but I like tiny details.
Unusual nicknames everyone uses: Don’t give every character one of these. But a unique name can help a character stick out as long as you back them up with good development and a well-rounded personality. For example, his birth certificate says Benjamin, but everyone calls him Benji or Enji. But seriously, don’t think he’s automatically unique and original just because of his unusual name. It can be a nod to how he likes to avoid tradition.
Nicknames specific to certain relationships: His birth certificate says Benjamin, everyone at school calls him Ben, but his family members call him Benny. Maybe he’s annoyed by the family name, or maybe he likes it. It means a lot to him when he asks his long-time girlfriend to start calling him Benny because that, to him, shows that she’s almost like family. That’s the case for me, at least—everyone calls me Emilie, but my mom and one close friend call me Em sometimes. I kinda like that it’s a little less formal. Or, in another case, my uncle is Nick to basically everyone except in business situations. To anyone he hires or works with, he’s strictly Nicolas.
Nicknames specific to a certain type of character: As in, one character gives everyone a nickname. My character Sam gives a nickname to everyone she meets. To her, Alice is Allie and Vince is Vinny, as two examples. No one else calls Vince Vinny or Alice Allie. In her case, this helps show how laid back she is and how she’s not really formal with the people she meets.
Nicknames specific to the situation: Tangled did this best. In the beginning, Rapunzel introduces herself as “Rapunzel” and Flynn Rider jokingly replies, “Gesundheit.” From then on, partially teasingly and partially uncaringly, he calls her Blondie. He seems to wield it in an “I don’t care enough about you to remember or pronounce your real name.” At the end, though, when things get serious and he doesn’t know what happened to her, he cries out, “Rapunzel!” Reverting to her real name shows us that the situation is very serious and he actually does care about her.

Hi, I was wondering if you could give any advice about reading or whether that's too off-subject? Because absolutely LOVE writing, but I'm not great at the reading side of it; I find starting to read a book quite a daunting task, and it's at the point that I just don't read any more b/c it just feels too overwhelming to start & I feel so awful for it. I'm certain my writing's taking a serious knock b/c of not reading. Do you have any advice for reluctant readers? Thanks so much xx
I know this feel… because I’m also a reluctant reader… and my inner-editor is so ruthless that reading a book is a chore to me most of the time. That’s not because I think I could do any better, it’s more like… I’m so used to editing my own writing, that I find it hard to switch off when I’m trying to enjoy somebody else’s!
You just gotta tell yourself the following:
It’s okay to not like a book.
I live with someone who absolutely cannot put a book down. Even if they hate it, they persevere to the end every time. I’m just… not that kind of reader. If I pick up a book and it fails to draw me in within the first two chapters, I’m out of there.
At the end of the day, it’s a writers job to pull a reader in and to keep them engaged. If a book fails to do that for you, there’s no reason why you should feel bad or like you have to put yourself through misery just to read it. There are other books that are more worth your time, and for every person who doesn’t like a particular book, there’s always another person who loves it.
You really don’t owe an author an apology or any feelings of guilt if you didn’t enjoy their book…
It’s okay to take your time when reading a book.
We all know one person who inhales books… and it kind of makes you think there’s something wrong with you for not finishing a book at an unnatural speed.
Truthfully, book worms of the degree like my mother, for example, who can read a trilogy in a single day, are not the norm. I know a lot of readers (being one myself [remember, you are a reader, even if you aren’t a book blogger or someone who eats books for breakfast!]) and she is the only one I know so far with that skill. The rest of us… are way more casual about our books.
For me, I’m lucky if I finish a book within a month unless it really grips me. Books that take me from the beginning to the end over the space of a day are few and far between… but there’s nothing wrong with taking your time to read a book.
So long as you’re enjoying it and getting something out of it, there’s no reason to rush!
It’s okay to go a few days or weeks without reading a book.
There are some writers out there who don’t read at all when they write. Then there are writers out there who can’t put books down. The point being: there’s no absolute law out there that says you have to read every single day, especially since ‘reading’ isn’t solely restricted to reading novels.
You might read articles in newspapers, magazines or online. You might read advice columns and segments, non-fiction pieces, fan fiction, poetry and short stories, a whole thread on Reddit, interviews, the subtitles on a foreign film or tv show, comic and manga books, or lines and lines of code.
Even if you haven’t picked up a good old fashioned novel in the last few weeks, there’s no way you’ve avoided reading entirely. Sometimes, you just need to take a break and look at other things for a while. Or you might find reading when you’re writing to be pointless or a distraction, which is fine too.
It’s up to you when you read and you should never feel pressured into doing it, just because someone else is reading a Bible-sized book a day and reblogging a hundred quotes about how only REAL WRITERS always have a book in hand. I don’t know about anyone else, but those kind of things serve to demotivate me rather than make me want to read…
It’s okay to avoid certain books too.
I’ve studied literature for a lot of years and despite my love for Shakespeare and Marlowe, for poets of that era, before and beyond, I just cannot read the majority of Classics.
I hate Classics. Classic poets? Sign me up. Plays? Yes please. Fiction novels? Uhh…
Tumblr media
Once upon a time, I let people tell me that this made me a bad writer. Truthfully, your writing should speak for your writing, not your reading list! I remember encountering a lovely individual on Goodreads who, after scanning my half-finished profile (I’d joined, like, one day before our encounter via the forums) confirmed that because they had read more books than me, they were Better!
You really don’t owe it to anybody to make yourself read things that other people think you absolutely should read, especially if you don’t enjoy them… and you’re no better or worse for the rate at which you read, or how many read-books you have under your belt either.
Quick Tips: Making Time for Reading
Pick a certain amount of pages/chapters you think you can reasonably read in a certain time period. For example, ‘I’ll read ten pages before bed every Tuesday’ just to get you started out. Gradually up it as the weeks go on and if you find you’re really into one book, just read as much as you want to in a day! It’s not a contest and you shouldn’t feel like you have to read a certain amount for it to ‘count’. Do what you can and what you want to do, not what you feel should be done.
Read things that are similar to the kind of thing you’re writing! So… I write a lot of fantasy/sci-fi/literary works… in which case, I really enjoy reading books of that genre. Think about the last book you enjoyed and see if you can find something similar.
Pick up a best-seller! They’re ‘best-sellers’ for a reason, mostly because they’re well-liked by all types of people. If lots of other people like it, there’s more chance you will too & it might just get you back into reading again, even for just that one book!
Keep a book in your bag for when you’re out and about. Instead of looking at your phone or out of the window on the bus/train/in the car, try reading instead (that is, if you can stomach it…). Even if you can’t read on transport, there’s always a little bit of time whilst you wait for your ride in which you can get a few paragraphs in. The same goes for work breaks, breaks at school, or whilst you’re waiting in the doctors’ surgery, etc.
I hope this helps put you at ease, Anon! There are bound to be days still where you just don’t feel like reading at all… but as long as you don’t give up entirely, you’re still winning ✧*。٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و✧*。

Fun ways for characters to be wrong
-Being intentionally mislead
-Naively thinking something won’t be that bad
-Ignoring facts so they don’t have to change their opinions
-Assuming something will always be the same
-Putting too much trust in something or someone
-Assuming everybody else holds a certain belief
-Assuming everybody else acts a certain way
-Not knowing all the facts and extrapolating

Ooooh, I LOVE this question!
Lots of people keep journals with systematic diary entries, but I understand that it doesn’t work for everyone.
Here are some cool/interesting/fun/motivational/productive things you can do that don’t necessarily include keeping a diary:
Turn a Moleskine (or other notebook) into a planner/organizer/PDA/productivity system
52 lists
30 Days of Lists
Answer “50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind”
Start a gratitude journal
Create a “life handbook”
Keep morning pages
Start a scrapbook
Use journal prompts to answer questions when you feel like it
Participate in the 7-week Life Cleanse (new link! should work now!)
Keep these 9 lists updated — REALLY useful things to keep track of!
Take notes as you learn something new
Use a notebook to keep track of goal-setting and productivity: 60 Ways to Improve Your Life in 100 Days
Keep a recipe book
Keep a reading journal/movie journal/music journal/fashion journal
Start a quote book
Make a travel journal — use it to plan your trip/vacation, then glue in transportation ticket stubs, itineraries, maps, photographs, dinner receipts at fancy restaurants, and write about your adventures
Doodle in it
Write poetry
Cut out and glue pretty pictures
Create a bucket list journal and record each item as you complete it
Keep a dream journal
Journal your goals with the prompts, motivation, and advice I offer in my own self-published ebook
Does that give you enough ideas to start with? :)

Hello, I have been on a very long break from writing, for well over a year now. As I entered into my last year of high school I got too busy to even think about it. But now I've graduated, and I really want to get into writing again before uni. But I have NO IDEA how to start again. Any advice for someone trying to break a long-term writing dry spell? Thanks :)
Step 1:  Sit down at your computer (or notebook) and give it a good long stare.
Step 2:  Remind it that everything you put on the page belongs wholly to you.  You are the master.  Tell it that you cannot be intimidated by anything you create because it’s YOUR creation and you have the power.  Say it out loud - especially if you’re unsure.  Your computer (or notebook) will not be able to tell if you are lying and will begin to cooperate.
Step 3:  Start small.  Write little things that can’t intimidate you or scare you away.  Proceed to write whatever beautiful prose or randomly-generated garbledygook you wish to write.  Write it even if it feels weird.  It’ll get you in the habit, and your bigger projects will thank you for it later.
Step 4:  Do this every day.  Write a bit and, if you want, show it to a friend or two.  Having people ready and waiting to receive the table scraps of your grand work read your writing can help motivate you to continue.
Step 5:  Water the plant until it grows.  Keep growing it.  Do not stop watering it.  Remember, your writing is a beautiful small poppy seed that wants love and will wither away sadly without your devotion.
You have your friends, your family, your activities, your studies, the weather outside your window, your favorite shows.  Your writing has only you.  Love it every day.
Godspeed, Anon!
