In a small defence of my country, most Americans are for federal background checks and more gun control (not eliminating guns though) but the politicians are bought by the NRA so that's why it goes nowhere.

Nothing is going to change. Americans love their guns more than they love people and after Sandy Hook we decided that killing over 20 children was acceptable and not outrageous enough to make reasonable restrictions on guns. This is America, a country that has been around for 200 years, a superpower, a 1st world nation, and one of the wealthiest countries on the planet and we refuse to protect our own people. We respect guns more than we respect the lives of people.

I am a soldier. You do not have to support or respect the wars or our military industrial complex. We have issues with the system too. Please just respect the individuals who went through shit just for free college, etc. Even if we disagree, want to say no, whatever, we can't.

At the core of conservatism is a hatred for democracy and the will of the people. They think only the elite should have a say because they are deserving, and then only certain elite.

I am drowning, self doubt overwhelming.

My moral compass has been demagnitized

and the light of stars do not shine upon me.

They are long dead anyways,

like the way my heart only beats biologically.

Each day is one less

as I march towards inevitability.

Everything ends. I am not afriad

because I can no longer feel my fingertips.

I spray drops of my own blood,

watch it drip and pool,

just to remind myself I am still here.

I want physical pain in tune with emotional.

But it never adds up and I am left wondering

where do I go from here.
