It's another day of Polish nightmare and we could really use your support.

I don't know how many of you have heard, but the situation in Poland regarding reproductive rights is really, really dire right now. This country was never on the forefront of human rights regarding access to abortion or even the morning-after pills - for the last 27 years, abortion was regulated by the so-called 'compromise', which meant it was possible to get it, the safe and out-in-the-open way, if the pregnancy was a threat to the mother's health/life, if it was a result of r*pe or if the fetus was sick and disfigured. So, the access to abortion was very restricted already, with more and more activists doing the hard, gruelling work of trying to make people see that the 'compromise' is not enough, that Polish people who get pregnant and don't want to become a parent have every right to terminate the pregnancy until its 12 week, just like in pretty much every other civilized country on Earth. That everyone deserves a right to decide their own fate. A right to choose. The greatest, most important thing you can give to another human being - a Right To Choose.

That was the reality. Until a few days ago, at least.

A few days ago, our Constitutional Tribunal (which, at the moment, is actually very unconstitutional, because this country is a shitshow, but that's another story) allowed for the last possibility to be taken away. For years, there's been a project of a total abortion ban roaming around Polish legislature and for years we've managed to fight it off. Until now. Now, the group of misogynistic religious fundamentalists, Polish government and Polish catholic church, all banded together, supported by the waves of propaganda and the nazis (yes, we've got a lot of them. In the country that was possibly the most impacted one during WWII, where masses of people were murdered, where the capital city was bombed into a ruined wasteland, we've got nazis) decided to take away people's rights to terminate a sick pregnancy. Oh, and now one of their leaders - which is a woman, btw - wants to force r*pe victims to give birth next.

So, we riot. We rebel. We scream. We protest and march, and demonstrate. Those of us who can't protest physically - we put signs in our windows, we try to spread the word, we spread the info regarding orgs and funds helping people get the abortion in other countries, we sign petitions. We try our hardest, we try our best. But we do need all the help we can get.

So, if you want to help, if you can see the injustice, the cruelty, the danger of what's happening, PLEASE, SPREAD THE WORD TOO. There is also a petition you could sign:

(there are a few more out there, but this one seems to be the biggest), but most importantly, YELL ABOUT US. POST ABOUT US. SCREAM ABOUT US. Don't leave us alone, don't leave us hanging, make it all known. Make it loud. Make it messy. Help make it a fucking PR nightmare. Add to the pressure on Polish government until its so heavy they have no choice but to cave, to reiterate, to leave our bodies alone.

Please. Don't look away.

If, by any chance anyone is interested in why my updates aren't as frequent and the ZelAme comic isn't being updated already, just wanted to inform you guys, everything's fine. Comic progress is slow because of my full time job. "What do you do for a living?" You might Ask. Well... I decorate gingerbreads :p at this moment i'm in the middle of designing an Autumn collection and there's ton of stuff to do. But don't worry, new pages are comming soon :)
