so much abo fanfic is just our current misogyny and patriarchy put to an extreme degree, with fictional science that backs it as correct and then presented in a positive light

like omegas are biologically build to be housewives and produce children. alphas are biologically build to protect and provide for their weak omega and children. betas are just there ig (srsly why are betas just ignored in every abo fic???) and theres no questioning the status quo Because its biologically and scientifically correct in-universe

the fact that omegas (for the most part) fall to their insticts during their heat, and cant fend off any alphas due to their biology, are basically just sluts asking to be raped and theres no reflection on that - its presented as hot in a lot of cases instead of stupid scary

alphas are strong, are smart, are the ceos and the top of society, deserve more than betas and omegas, legit because of their instincts and biology. and thats shown as correct. not questioned.

it freaks me out a bit, especially with how trad gender roles within patriarchy are being rewritten in society at the moment as Feminist and Girlboss. Its great to do everything for a man, and to cook and clean and live at home, and have all the info you intake be simplified to the girl-version with shopping and celeb gossip so your little, girly brain can understand. how can people be so uncritical of writing a fictional patriarchy and presenting it as unambiguously right???

how does menopause work in the omegaverse?

cuz like, for us, it can happen as early as 40, and that is an age that many characters are. cuz yknow characters age and stuff, but menopause is never brought up in abo fics? or at least ive never seen it brought up?

the main characters in fic are usually going through heats and ruts (but would there be a rut menopause too in the omegaverse?) cuz theyre usually fuckin and having kids, thats like the main plot for abo fics. and any older side characters (grandparents, teachers, co workers etc.) just dont have heats/ruts mentioned, but the same tends to happen for younger side characters too

so its hard to say if they exist or not because no abo writer is focusing on if grandpa can self-lube or not

small pet peeve is people writing narnia fanfics from the pevensies perspective and referring to back home/England as earth. its like such a small detail and im honestly peobs somewhat wrong abt it, but they, in the vooks and that, would talk about england

the telmar got sent back to somewhere nonspecific on earth sure, but the pevensies are from england, and would say england etc.

personally i think making the choice for iida to tell Midoriya off for signing instead of mumbling like in cannon is one of the dumbest choices ever.

First you made him refer to it as "moving your hands wildly" which, um, hypocrisy Iida, but also the decision to make Iida not recognise sign (even if he can't read it himself) is so dumb for how high standards he holds himself to.

secondly, Iida is sat in front of them so why would it bother him at all.

Also, having Midoriya explain he's signing for his friend instead of Present Mic (a teacher and hero who has almost definitely seen people signing before) explain it's sign and tell Iida to ask a question instead of telling off other students is dumb imo

hybrid fics do this thing where they treat a humanoid with thoughts and feelings as an animal, and depending on the fic, it makes it rlly uncomfortable imo

istg, yall need to actually learn who media goes after for personal gossip rather than presuming that some guy who plays in a lower league and has to work a second job is get swarmed by multipul reporters in the street after a game, have any of you ever watched sports? like ever? you know that the reporters usually get a chance to interview the athletes In the stadium/wherever if its big enough they want 1 on 1 interviews

also i highly doubt how many people would considering the popularity of the sport + the fact that its not even the main league that people would watch

ive been reading a lot of "didn't know they were dating" fics recently, and like, there are some interesting interpretations

there's the fics where the tag is about ppl outside of the relationship, which seems to be more secretly dating or at least accidentally secretly dating (?)

and there's the fics where its about the people actually in the relationship, of which there are 2 main variations

1) one person asks the other out (in a someone ambiguous way) and the other person accepts without realising its a date, so one person thinks theyre dating and the other thinks theyre not but has a crush on them and wishes they were dating

2) neither thinks theyre dating or has asked to date or has thought about dating the other, they just act really domestic and all their friends insist theyre dating until they kinda just give in and accept theyre dating

the weird thing for type 2 is that sometimes neither character is attracted to the other romantically or sexually, so they are legit just "dating" cuz other people think they're too close to be friends

idk abt you, but that doesn't seem like dating, that seems like some friends who hang around each other a lot and aren't romantically inclined to each other. How does that count as dating, nvm "didn't know they were dating"?????
