heather foster.
typical response from hazel. not that heather expected any different. “ out? really? that’s all you’re gonna say? ” a lot of people have asked heather why she puts up with her younger sister. you should have left her in that house with your mother, she’ll never forget the night some old drunk had told her that six beers in. she didn’t take it personally, but it did bother heather that her family’s business was just out in the open like that. it was embarrassing. “ i’ve been at work. trying to make a living so that we don’t end up living on the street. not that you care, since you’re hardly ever home. what if something bad happened to you? you couldn’t at least check in with me? ”
“ i was out! ” she insists, a smile now pulling at the corner of her lips. this would be so much easier if heather gave up on hazel. she’s not sure what it is, but her sister sees something that she doesn’t see in herself. hazel is okay with the fact that she’s stuck in this town. heather always believed the two deserved better. “ i’m fine. i’m always fine. if something happens to me then i’ll check in with you, ” it’s obvious hazel knows it doesn’t make any sense. “ if i’m dying, i’ll just give you a call. ”

heather foster.
another double shift. heather spends more time at blue heaven than she does at home. with the recent disappearances, a lot of crescent shore residents have been skipping town. not that heather blames them, she’d get the hell out of this town too if she could afford it. people leaving has affected business, and she’s practically had to beg her boss to get some extra hours around the bar. it doesn’t matter how many doubles she works or how many tips she manages to scrounge up by the end of the night–– it’ll never be enough to help her get out of here. staying in crescent shore for the rest of her life is a reality that heather foster has already accepted. parking in front of the tiny building that is the crescent moon mini mart, she takes a few seconds to really feel how tired she was before grunting and getting out of the car. stepping into the store, she’s met with blinding fluorescent lighting that only irritates the migraine she slowly feels coming. going down one of the aisles, heather searches the shelves for tonights dinner. canned ravioli or instant ramen. delicious. getting two cups of the ramen, she considers getting another pair with hazel in mind. hazel foster, her younger sister. it’s been almost a week since heather has heard from her the girl and she’ll admit that it’s been nagging at her. with the disappearances of the girls, heather was afraid that her sister would the fourth. however, she had no way to track her down and she wasn’t going to go to the sheriff given the fact that he absolutely disliked hazel. much like everyone in town. heather hates that her family is basically the black sheep of town. the only reason why any of the crescent shore residents ever gave heather the time of day is because they felt bad for her. nothing like making friends out of sympathy rather than sincereness. heather snaps out of her thoughts and she looks over briefly. speak of the devil. “ hazel? where the hell have you been? ” older sister is quick to confront the other, already knowing that this was going to end in an argument.
hazel spots heather before even stepping into the store. if the bell from the mini mart’s door hadn’t already run, she’d probably turn right around. but it’s too late, her presence had been announced. for the past week, hazel has been avoiding going home. if there’s one person in the world who knows when something is up with her, it’s heather. she didn’t want to explain why she’s been more quiet than usual or why the smell of alcohol was following her around crescent shore. then hazel would have to explain tatum, and heather will try to help. she didn’t want help. she just wanted a damn break. she doesn’t bother looking at her sister as she comes up from behind, steady on her heels as she heads towards the freezers. “ i’ve been out, ” hazel doesn’t stop until she finds what she wants— peanut butter ice cream. she pulls the glass door open and sticks her hand into the cold air, pulling out the carton. finally, she turns to face heather ; head tilted to the side, an unamused expression sketched on her features. “ where have you been? ”

hi , my name is . . . : bee
the character i’m drawn to in horrors is . . . : the accused. developing hazel these last few weeks has gotten me very attached to her and i’m so excited to develop her further in the first horrors plot with your characters , i feel like the connections established with other muses are what really bring the horror to life. hazel watching someone she cares about die ? yeah , that’s horror babes x
favorite scary movie ? obviously . . . : i want to say IT , but by now it’s not a scary movie , it’s a comfort movie <3 i did also enjoy the insidious movies . . . no one compares to girlboss elise fr
favorite urban legend ? it’s totally . . . : it’s too hard to choose one and if i’m being honest idk what qualifies something as an urban legend :p but i’ll say bloody mary bc they had me at the ripe young age of eight years old in the catholic school’s bathroom after late night cheer practice begging her to appear . . . sorry who allowed that ?
i’m excited to see this happening in the group . . . : the killer. haha no just kidding . . . unless 👀 look , i’m a true crime girl at heart and i love a good motive and what goes on in their heads , seeing their story play out is going to be super interesting

𝙿𝚁𝙴 𝙰𝙲𝙲𝙴𝙿𝚃𝙰𝙽𝙲𝙴 𝚃𝙰𝚂𝙺 –––– hazel has been asked to pay a visit to the crescent shore police department in hopes that they’ll learn more about the local girls’ disappearances.
it’s been exactly a week since tatum was last seen. when faye and sybil disappeared, there had been a lot of pressure put on the cspd. but when tatum went missing, everything changed. the sheriff’s daughter gone— just like that. because of her status in the community, none of the officers got much sleep. work was their priority. they weren’t going to stop until the girls were back safe and sound. that’s where they were at ; convinced they were still okay. even though the odds of them being dead following the twenty four hour mark are likely. the good news is, no bodies have been found. so, they’ll take their chances at believing this nightmare will end eventually.
hazel sits at the cold, metal table inside the station. fingernails tapping against the surface as she waits for someone else to join her. “ my sister is waiting at home for me. can we get this over with? ” the question is directed to the two way mirror to her left. at the very least, sheriff rogers is on the other side. she’s been here plenty of times before to know how he works. and for once, her statement is not a lie. heather must be looking for hazel, worried she’s become the fourth victim. however, it doesn’t necessarily mean she will be returning home when this is settled.
what feels like an eternity has passed, and finally, the deputy enters. “ hello, miss foster. ” hazel slides down in her chair, getting comfortable for what she assumes will be a long and painful conversation. “ hazel foster, twenty one, address is 14 willis drive, ” without being asked, she’s listing the basics to the camera. deputy cortez stares at hazel in surprise, averting his eyes to the papers in hand afterwards. hazel simply shrugs, this is far from her first rodeo. these things are usually always the same.
the formalities subside, and then they go right into it.
“ miss foster, when did you see tatum rogers last? ” instead of immediately answering, she gazes to the mirrors once again. curiosity has gotten the best of hazel, wondering why the sheriff wasn’t out here doing this himself. he is the person leading this investigation after all.
“ i don’t remember. ”
the deputy takes a deep breath, expecting nothing less from the girl. “ this will go smoother if you tell us the truth. ”
“ i am telling the truth. i don’t remember when i last saw tatum, ” lie. she wouldn’t be able to forget a moment with tatum, no matter how average it may have seemed. the last time hazel saw tatum was at the crescent multiplex. she was with a few friends buying snacks at the concession stand when tatum interrupted to pull her away. the discussion consisted of tatum apologizing to hazel for what happened weeks earlier in this exact location. this was the third time tatum begged hazel for her forgiveness. and she was tired of being so upset, especially since tatum’s closest friends were MIA. therefore the two agreed, they'd meet at the bay that night. tatum never showed.
“ we have multiple witnesses saying you had an argument with tatum, sybil, and faye prior to the days they went missing. ”
“ you’re saying i’m a person of interest now? ” she sits up straighter, hands gripping the sides of her seat, knuckles turning white. ridiculous. deputy cortez opens his mouth to respond, but hazel stops him. adding, “ i wanna talk to rogers. ” the next words to come from the man were going to be along the lines of he’s busy, or you can talk to me. she stands her ground, “ i want to talk to rogers. ”
hazel is constantly taking the blame for most crimes in crescent shore. it’s not that she’s committing them all, typically she’s taking the fall for her friends. or can’t afford a lawyer like the rich kids in town. it doesn’t take a strenuous amount of effort to be a lawyer in this town, their greatest tactic is to announce that hazel did whatever their client is being charged for. ninety percent of the time it works.
maybe that's why they’re putting this on her. with hazel foster away, the lawbreaking will stop. but if she goes down for this, who will the crescent cove snobs accuse?
sheriff rogers casually strolls into the room. no care in the world, huh? hazel can see through the facade. she’s been using a similar one. the relationship she shared with tatum was secret, aside from a few people who knew them both really well. she can’t be sad about a stranger disappearing, perhaps never to be seen again.
“ i’m here. talk, ” the sheriff instructs as he closes the door and resting his back behind it.
“ why are you acting like i’m responsible? ” tatum’s father didn’t approve of her spending time with hazel. he was aware that they were friends, walking in on them in his daughter’s bedroom— on any occasion it would lead to him kicking hazel out of the house. sometimes she wondered if he didn’t accept her because of her lengthy criminal record or because of the possibility that her and tatum’s friendship was more than that. another reason to condemn hazel.
rogers crosses his arms over his chest, “ who said i was acting? ”
“ if you think i’m the reason for this, you’re dumber than i thought, ” she scoffs, refusing to make eye contact with him as she takes the dig.
the relaxed energy he was exuding quickly changes to anger as he charges towards the table, hand slamming down to meet the metal. fear creeps into her, even deputy cortez jumps at the unexpected noise. “ where is my daughter, foster?! ”
hazel begins to tear up at the sheriff’s reaction. “ i don’t know! ” the shout matches his volume. if she’s lying to him, she’s putting on one hell of a performance. “ just let me go home! ” her voice breaks. earlier, hazel planned to stay far away from home. but now, she wants nothing more than to run into her sister’s arms and explain everything.
