“So I suppose that ends another chapter on my life,” Gentaro said, looking up to the topmost stone to find his friend’s name. “It seems like a rather lot of chapters for twenty-six years, don’t you think? Possibly there’s spillover from another one of my lives.”

He could almost picture it, the way his friend used to laugh and call him melodramatic. It was the thing that grounded him in the early days, though Gentaro had more ways of doing that now.

“But try not to miss me too much, I’m sure I’ll return to you in due time. And thank you, as always, for listening,” Gentaro said, touching his lips to his fingertips before pressing them to the memorial again.

He stood up and straightened his shoulders and, with his last goodbyes, walked away from his old life, at least for the time being.

Future fic where Dice and Gentaro get out of Shibuya for a while. This baby holds all the cliches: slow burn, gambling, bedsharing, house sharing, pathetic Gentaro, angst, no more angst, mic battles, Ramuda. You name it!

He collapsed into bed, face pressed into the pillow as flush as it would go. Maybe he could fall asleep just like this and slowly run out of oxygen while he was dreaming. That would be an easy way to go. One second sweet dreams, then the next- the void, or whatever came after. It would even come with bonuses. No more overtime, no more scoldings, no more cuts to his paycheck because he’d ended up taking the fall for someone else for the thousandth time in his pitiful existence.

Since I'm getting sick and need some time to recover, I've decided to extend the deadline to 11:59PM (PST/GMT-8) on Tuesday, March 19th. Reveals have been pushed back to that following Saturday. Sorry about this delay.

REMINDER: Tomorrow is Sunday, January 6th. You have until the end of the day PST to let me know if you’re dropping out of HypMic BB due to the controversy.

This is particularly important for people whose partners have dropped out because I will drop partnerless people if I do not specifically hear you would like to continue the event by this deadline. I’ve sent separate emails if this applies to you. 

I will also NOT be contacting people through alternate contact accounts once this deadline as passed, which I usually do when it’s check-ins.

Updates about deadlines:

The deadline for deciding whether to drop due to the writer controversy is January 6th. This does not affect drop-outs due to real life circumstances; this is just for people currently undecided about their involvement in HypMic.

Subsequently, all deadlines/check-ins have been pushed back three weeks to accommodate a little for the time lost. All final drafts are now due March 3rd. You can view the new schedule on Google Docs or Tumblr.

People whose partners have dropped out have been emailed and also given until January 6th to decide if they’d like to continue or drop out.

I have decided to continue the HypMic Big Bang.

All updates have been emailed to participants, too.

Drop-out notices for people whose partners have dropped will be sent out tomorrow (the 21st).

I’m thinking about establishing a deadline to drop due to the controversy, because while I understand people want to see whether things change or not and think on their feelings, I can’t let this continue too long.

Also in the works is a personal deadline for myself to decide what to do with HypMic BB.

Under consideration is pushing back all of the check-ins/deadlines due to this situation and the logistics I will now have to do.

About the future of HypMic Big Bang

Hello, all. If you haven’t heard already, there is controversy going around about the main writer of HypMic that has exploded in the overseas fandoms. I’m not going to reiterate what’s been going on, but you can search for it if you’d like; trigger warnings for pedophilia, incest, and misogyny.

I’m not here to tell you how to feel about this, nor am I here to tell you how I feel about it. You are free to interpret the events for yourself and decide whether you would like to drop out or not.

That being said, I am currently deciding whether or not to end the HypMic Big Bang completely. I know a lot of hard work has gone into this from all of you and I don’t want to invalidate that, but at this moment in time, it’s difficult to say whether this event can continue. I have understandably received some notices of drop-outs and due to the nature of a Big Bang, a significant enough number of people may end up partnerless without me able to do anything about it.

There are a lot of possibilities that can take place as time goes on, people are digesting the news, and perhaps something changes about the situation. I may personally leave this project to someone else (as some individuals who I will not name have offered to take over for me, and I’m grateful for you all!). I may drop this event entirely. I may continue it. I do not know yet, cannot give a timeline, and I apologize for not having anything definite right now.

For inquiries that are related to the Big Bang but are not drop-outs, please interpret them as if the event is continuing. If you would like to drop out, please let me know ASAP through any of the available avenues.
