A better, more positive Tumblr
Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, we’re proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.
Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).
Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.
So what is changing?
Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.
Why are we doing this?
It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.
So what’s next?
Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.
Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.
Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.
Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.

what were the purpose of those super tiny arms? I can't imagine they were any good for hunting or fighting so what's the point of micro arms?
That’s a good question! Carnotaurus and other abelisaurs have ridiculously tiny arms:
Those two bones that look like the wrist? That’s the entire forearm.
There’s some indication that they may have been especially flexible, which could point to them being used in some sort of display or other intraspecific behaviour. It’s also quite possible that they just…didn’t really serve any function. They could just be vestigial - that is, an evolutionary “leftover” that just hasn’t had the pressure to evolve away (like kiwi wings, or whale hips).

i love that every pokémon is someone’s favourite pokémon. it doesn’t matter how much you dislike a pokémon or how forgettable you you think a design is, out there is someone who thinks it’s their baby. my coworker who only discovered pokémon through pokémon go absolutely loves tangela and has a small army of fully powered up ones. at an expo once i saw a woman at a booth desperately trying to find an onix plushie because it was her daughter’s absolute favourite. i talked with someone recently who announced sudowoodo as their tippy top favourite. every single one is loved by someone and idk, i think that’s gotdang heartwarming

Since it’s sadly relevant, a PSA for anyone attending a Jewish funeral or visiting a home where they are sitting shiva: no flowers, please. We understand that’s your tradition and won’t be offended, but respecting our traditions is a better gift of care.

One third of GoFundMe campaigns are for necessary medical expenses. People are “donating” their vacation days so that a new mom can stay home with her baby. A college-educated homeless man stood on the street handing out resumes in desperation, begging for a job, any job. Multiple posts about parents buying teachers necessities like a car and school supplies went viral.
Twitter and the media highlight these stories as heartwarming examples of “sacrifice” and people “pulling themselves up by their bootstraps.”
I call bullshit. Only in a dystopian society would we feel anything other than horrified at the thought of people crowdfunding their most basic needs.

“If voting changed anything, they’d make it illegal!”
They have. Conservatives have been making it difficult or impossible for the poor, POC, and young people to vote since the beginning of time. The only reason you haven’t had trouble is because you’re white or male or middle to upper class and they don’t want to stop you from voting because they think you’ll vote for them. Prove them wrong and do it for the people they’re actively preventing from voting.
Examples of modern voter suppression:
In 2002, republicans paid telemarketers to tie up the lines to democratic “ride to the polls” hotlines that helped people without cars (young people and poor people) get to their polling stations.
In 2004, a republican organization went door to door offering to help people register to vote for the first time (young people, naturalized immigrants). If they attempted to register Democrat, they threw out their forms so that person wouldn’t be registered.
In 2006, in a Virginia senate election, registered democrats received phone calls saying they would be arrested if they attempted to vote.
In 2008, thousands of voters in poor or black communities were purged from the voting records.
In 2011, Florida passed a law that reduced early voting times. Early voting is primarily used by those who can’t afford to take time off work or school to vote on Election Day and early voters primarily vote democrat. They also barred The League of Women Voters from helping people register to vote.
In 2015 in Maryland, officials moved polling sites in minority majority cities to remote, rural, mostly white areas outside the cities.
In 2016 in Arizona, polling stations were closed in minority majority counties. Fewer polling stations meant wait times were 5+ hours, something the poor cannot take off work to do.
In 2016 in New York, 125,000 voters were removed from the voter rolls in Brooklyn alone.
In 2016 in North Carolina, voters had to use a photo ID to vote. POC and the poor are significantly less likely to have a government photo ID. Student IDs were not accepted. The Supreme Court overruled this law.
In 2016 in Texas, a law that allowed one to use a concealed carry permit as a valid form of ID but not things like student IDs was found to purposefully discriminate against minorities.
This year, North Dakota requires you to have a physical address in order to vote. Native Americans in the state use PO boxes rather than addresses because the postal service usually won’t deliver on the reservation.
In the last four years, Georgia has purged 1.5 million people from the voting rolls (the state has a population of 10 million). 50,000 people who have tried to register to vote, most of them black, have been told their registration is on hold indefinitely. The person in charge of this is republican Georgia Secretary of State, Brian Kemp, who is running for governor against black democrat and voting rights activist Stacey Abrams. Buses which transport black senior citizens to polling stations in Georgia were turned away.
This year, several colleges have moved polling stations off campus and are not allowing early voting for students. In New Hampshire, students who attend school out of state will be forced to pay for a new in state driver’s license and register their car in state (which costs around $300) to vote.
They HAVE been trying to make it impossible to vote because it DOES change things.

MY HUSBAND IS MISSING
PLEASE IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WHERE MY HUSBAND IS SHARE IT WITH ME OR THE MASON OHIO PD
PLEASE SHARE THIS POST TO HELP FIND MY HUSBAND
Dillon Alexander Williams went to Kings Island with me and my mother Melanie Dean but is now nowhere to be found. Last time I saw him was at the Build a Bear in Kings Island and he seemed completely fine. After hours of security searching they discovered my husband was no longer in the park and hadn’t been since 11 am. He was seen on camera walking out of the park, through the Soak City parking lot and out towards the Sunoco on the other side of the street.
He was last seen wearing black jeans, pink converse, a red and black Deadpool letterman jacket and a Marie the cat beanie like in the pictures I’ve provided.
I’ve been asking around and no one has seen him. This is legitimately the most terrifying thing I’ve ever experienced in my life, please, if you have ANY info call the Mason PD or send me a PM on here. I just want my husband home.
