There are 4 stages widely accepted for developing a new skill.

1. Unconscious Incompetence

First Stage - in which we dont know our level or knowledge, until we try for the first time. People stuck in this stage without trying, coz of fear of failure. Breaking this one is important in learning new things.

2. Conscious Incompetence

Second Stage - We tried something new and now we know where we are at that skill. We are incompetent but we know our level so we can improve.

3. Conscious Competence

Third Stage - Once we knew our level, we create the plan and start to master the skill. We are good but doing things cautiously.

4. Unconscious Competence

Final Stage - We have mastered the skill cautiously and now it became part of our behaviour. We can do it unconsciously and can help others to master it.
