#tbt to my days at #ESPGUITARS developing the current winding machine I have today for #HomeWreckerPickups #TheToneConsultant operations. Working on it while on my lunch hour and after hours. Lots of trial and error. Judging by this photo, it was a Thursday morning, after a long night residency show I would play in Hollywood with #NiceTie @motoehausofc and @illastratedinkllc long nights, early mornings. 2010-2011ish. I wish I could relive these days and would’ve embraced the chaos a bit more of that time. Found some old string packs from the 90s that weren’t picked in my storage theft. @deanmarkleyusa Obtained these from the original Santa Clara office. I still remember setting up a bunch of acoustics for Dean himself with @keith_holland_guitars and @singlecoil. Going over to his location in Saratoga. And seeing all these random rabbits all over the property. And getting a lesson in marketing that I would never forget. Sloppy. Splattery. ..just shaking the dust off, warming up before a session. I should post when I’m actually warmed up. Obviously in a heavy mood today, but I have to track R&B in a bit! Yesterday I had the pleasure of changing it up with a design I know very well. I have been using the house amplifiers past few weeks, neglecting my Fractal AX8 and Bogner Ecstasy with a 1x12. Friends who gave me hell for that. You know who you are. Chew on this treat. I’m not entirely picky with what I play through, tone..it’s all in my hands. Plus if I don’t have to haul an amp.. I certainly won’t. On Saturday buddy Garrett of @bennett.amplification was kind enough to let me borrow a King Combo 1x12. Vol, Tone, Master Vol. all you need. Verdict = Plexi meets Twin. Yes I said it. This amp can do anything if you apply yourself right. Must mention how reliable it was for long hot gigs in the sun. It delivered. Was sharp, very loud and efficient. Bell like cleans. Gain was clear when pushed. Yesterday we were blessed to share the stage the stage with Swells and Local Culture, played our own style of #IslandReggae with #r&b with ambient grooves. Adding #Cumbia and rock towards the end of the set. I can’t wait to take it for a spin at the next rock gig/session this week. The Bennet King Combo is truly in a class of its own. I will run this with a Bogner XTC next bigger gig. Stereo with the FX! Dream rig, complete! Awesome #BTS video put together by @aarnoldphotography Appreciate you and the time you took to make this. This summer is going to a good stretch of work before the chaos. Between launching the new product lines, import and custom shop, also the label stuff I have yet to disclose, and excitingly the releases of new singles. I’m excited, and gearing up.
