you know when a character in a show has to say goodbye to someone and they don’t ever look back because it would be like asking the person who has to leave to stay, and they can’t afford to have that happen? they care so much they can’t be ‘selfish’ enough to take neither look because if so they’d want the other character to stay with them?

and then you have the complete opposite of that character, who, when they have to say goodbye, they say it wholly? they chase the vehicle in which their loved one is leaving in because they just need one last glimpse? they need their loved one to know how loved they were and how much they’ll be missed?

i love both of these versions.

I think why the message of squid game is hopeless for a lot of people including myself and It's not because Gi-hun dying but the way he did, he was living his life depressed and alone, and he died in that same way, it doesn't feel hopeful at all.

He couldn't even have a little of comfort in his last moments, he was there only to suffer at the final of everything and it fucking hurts a lot. He chose good, he chose humanity, he chose hope but he was hopeless in himself, he thought he didn't have any way to fix himself and his relationship with his daughter and how do you expect me to feel such hope about this when they show me how ruined he was? Do you really can inspire others to have hope when you lost hope in yourself long time ago? And since it is meant to be a "realistic ending" in real life is this how it works? Also the good characters dying because they chose goodness or only suffering because of it doesn't make me want to be good or kind, if you always have to suffer because you chose to be a kind person and is the only way then Idk, it doesn't motivate me as it was intended to react like Noeul did when she saw Gi-hun during his last act.

Because it's not always like this, because chosing to be good is not meant to always suffer and have a lot of pain in your heart and I know Noeul and Gyeonseok maybe meant to show this at the final but if they did, why not Gi-hun who also deserved this and represented this better than them? Who was with much more screentime and made us feel so attached to him?

i want to rewatch s3 to find out what i missed & analyse the FLIP out of it but—

but. i really can’t. looking at how hard gihun tried to help, to be good, and then looking at the fate that he got will destroy me a second time and today i choose peace, actually.

i can’t. he died six days after his birthday. that’s so unfair. all of it is. i don’t want to look at how hard gihun tried and see that he never gets to make it out. he never gets to see his daughter.

so no analysis of s3 yet (and for a looooooong time) for my own peace 😭✌️
