metavision is real in the sense that the manga treats it as a legitimate power that allows isagi to be victorious on the field but the constant low-level attempts to explain that no it doesn't matter that isagi's competitors are taller faster stronger than him (traits influenced by genetics that he cannot get from training) AND that he doesn't have any special techniques (something he could theoretically train to get) because he can see REALLY good you guys. he can see like nobody else on the field sees (every game reveals three new dudes who can see the same way) is always gonna be funny
