"It might surprise you to learn that I frequently go through experiences without actually extracting any lessons from them," he remarked with a light chuckle, his tone lightheartedly playful.
"You're most welcome," Hunter replied with a grin. "Oh, I see, a mystery. I think you should go around and ask friends and family to place bets for what they think the names will be."
"I was just heading to grab a bite. I've got an hour-long break before my next patient, although she tends to run late, so I might end up with a bit more time than expected."
@huntermcgill
"You've survived it once, I would expect you to have learned from the previous experience and be able to out of it much quicker. But let's hope it's a once in a lifetime experience for both of us." She nodded her head. "Oh definitely."
"Thank you for saying that. It's very kind of you." She nodded her head. "We have their names picked out but we aren't sharing them until they are here. They are really heavily family influenced though. That's all I can say."
"Where were you headed? Do you have time for a break? I can't really drink coffee but I could go for a sweet treat."

A laugh escaped him uncontrollably as she playfully teased him about her decor plans. "You can still go with pink, that's my color," he quipped, "but it has to be Barbie pink." He cringed at the mention of Max Steel. "Action figures were never my thing; I was more of a Hot Wheels kind of guy," he added with a grin.
When she mentioned supporting the Rangers, Hunter nodded in understanding. "I get it. I also root for the Canadiens because it's my hometown, but I wasn't a die-hard hockey fan growing up." He reminisced about going to a hockey game only once, during a school field trip. "Sports, in general, aren't my biggest passion, but I do enjoy attending live games."
Feeling flattered, Hunter chuckled as Allegra teasingly referred to him as a beginner. "Well, I appreciate your willingness to be patient while I learn," he replied with a smile. "Why don't you text me when you're free? I'm sure I can reschedule some appointments if they happen to clash. After all, people's face lifts can wait, right?"
𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐑𝐀 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐃 when he comment how professional she was. She laughs at his request, it was his home so she won't do anything to her taste, always the client's preference above all. ❛ That's too sad, I was planning to decorate with rainbows and unicorns and paint the inside out of pink color. ❜ She says teasingly. ❛ Or would you rather have a Max Steel decoration? Or Ben 10. I'm not sure what is trending anymore. ❜ She says teasingly, just to meddle with him. The waiter refill her glass, and she took another large sip of it.
A fond smile appeared on her rosy lips when he mentioned her grandparents. And she giggles as he explained the misfortunate position of his favorite hockey team. ❛ Like I root for Rangers but it's just because my family lives in NYC, but I know nothing about it. I just go for the vibes. ❜ It is always a fun activity to go out and watch a lot of people gather together to root for one common passion in a place.
❛ I would say average because you're a beginner. I value quality over quantity. I may be soft on you. ❜ She teases trying to sound more flirty. ❛ Oh, you better! ❜ She refers to when he agreed with her on adventures. ❛ Ditto. I mean, I have the same issue, so I completely understand. ❜ And her agenda tends to be very unpredictable. She always had the plan to do one thing and turns out doing 11 things at the same time.

Observing Jimmy's meticulous preparation of the drink, Hunter couldn't help but wear a faint smile, appreciating the bartender's keen eye for detail. As Jimmy boasted about the bar's reputation, Hunter's gaze shifted to the proudly exhibited plaque on the wall. "I must admit," he began, "every time I've been here, the drinks have been nothing short of perfection. However, we all know that mistakes are a part of life." He let out a chuckle, attributing it to a tough day at work. "You see, today at the hospital, I dealt with a patient who had undergone numerous nose surgeries and was adamant about getting more, despite the risk of permanent damage. So, it was a big discussion."
Jimmy finished preparing the drink and added only two ice cubes and placed it on the coaster in front of the patron. "It's all good man, no worries. And thanks, I do appreciate it though the bar does have to keep up its reputation," Jimmy said slyly, hooking a thumb to point to a plaque behind him which showed The Boiler Room won best bar in town for the last few years. "Nothing wrong with wanting your drink done right, especially after a hard days work. Though I have no idea if you had a hard days work or not." He chuckled and cleaned up a small puddle from the condensation of a nearby glass.

"Well, thanks for the offer," Hunter said, taking a moment to contemplate before continuing. "But I think you should enjoy your drink. However, I will stop you from getting a fourth," he said with a chuckle. "Let me just talk to the bartender, and I'm sure they'll fix it up for me." Hunter motioned to the bartender and politely pointed out the issue with the drink. The bartender quickly apologized for the mistake and promised to make a fresh one. As he waited for the new drink, Hunter turned back to Brad with a grin. "I should probably drink water after this one too, or just soda."
Brad frowned slightly as the man held up his drink. There was no doubt that the ice had overpowered the whiskey to the point where its colour more resembled apple juice than it did liquor. "I'm sure it wasn't intentional mate. I would just bring it to their attention and I'm sure they'll bring you another." The red haired man reasoned with a small shrug, as, just at that moment, the bartender set down in front of him a much more reasonable looking whiskey on the rocks of his own. "Or hell, you know what? Take this one. I really shouldn't be having it anyway. I was only supposed to have one and this is me third." He admitted with a chuckle and a shrug. "Really, you'd be doing me a favor by taking it. I should be getting started on the water right about now."

Hunter found himself taken aback by the unfolding situation. Her smile was undeniably charming, and he felt a flutter of excitement in his stomach. It had been quite a while since he experienced such emotions. Despite scolding himself for these feelings, he couldn't resist them. "You're impressively professional," he chuckled, admiring her card before safely stowing it in his wallet to avoid misplacing it. "Just don't go overboard with the decor, and I'm pretty open to everything else." He couldn't help but feel giddy about the prospect of seeing her again.
When she mentioned her grandparents, it struck a chord with him, reminding him of his own family. He mentally noted to call his grandparents later and check on them, envisioning his grandmother's playful complaints about his rusty French. "I'm sure they'll be happy to see you," he said with a smile. "It's called the Montreal Canadiens. We did reach the finals two years ago, although I didn't go." He was in the process of moving here around the time that happened.
"Well, now I'm nervous because I was not gifted with that skill," he said with a chuckle. In all honesty, it had been a while since Hunter last felt the need to flirt, so every attempt that could happen tonight felt a bit unnatural to him. "And how strict are you as a judge?"
AAs she expressed her excitement about going on an adventure together, he couldn't help but mirror her enthusiasm. He genuinely looked forward to spending more time with her, much to his surprise. "Believe me, I'm serious," he reassured her. "I'll have to check my schedule because I'm always swamped with work," he added, half-serious, considering the demanding nature of his job at the hospital. "However, I think I can manage to make time for you." he added with a smirk.
𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 surprised at how things are transforming. He seems genuinely interested in getting to know her, in general, she is used to hearing the other talk not the other way around, and his smile… Should stop of being so charming. It had been a while since she feels this excited to be around somebody, perhaps this is the explanation for the butterfly feelings in the pit of her stomach. Maybe, he is the one who, after a long time feels like a teen again. Crush… How childish. And the bonus she found herself a client. ❛ Anytime. I'll give you my card with my number. ❜ She picked from her purse one of her professional cards with her name and phone.
❛ You're probably right, I miss mia nonna making goodies for me, and nonno. Maybe, I'll do that sooner. ❜ Perhaps it is time for her to call her grandparents to ask if they are fine, a mental note she made to do it later when she gets in the home. ❛ Oh shit, I didn't know it. I root for the Rangers. What is your team over there? ❜ She asked genuinely interested to get to know him better. She isn't a fanatic but goes to the stadium because she likes the vibes and the energy of people that goes to watch.
❛ Oh, y'know to be my friend at the least needs to pass on the test for cookery skill. ❜ She says jokily, noticing the reddish shade on him… It made her a little proud of herself for successfully managing her shit attempt to flirt. ❛ I am the judge that tastes, of course. ❜ She took another sip from her drink, now her glass was empty.
He liked her idea! Meaning they'll have so much fun. ❛ Oh my God! Are you serious? Sublime! ❜ She couldn't hide her enthusiasm that he agreed to go on an adventure with her, not that her options were radical… Still is something. ❛ Now you have my card, we can go any time when you are free. ❜ She has a nasty habit to forget she is also a busy person, but Allegra being Allegra ignored that part and was looking forward to going out with him again.

Hunter nodded appreciatively, not wanting to cause trouble. He understood that everyone had to start somewhere, and he admired Jimmy's willingness to rectify the situation without any fuss. He wasn't upset about the mistake; after all, making mistakes was human nature. He felt a pang of guilt for making Jimmy prepare a new drink. As he watched him prepare a new drink, Hunter thanked him with a smile. "No worries," Hunter said warmly. "Mistakes happen, and please I still would like to pay for it. "I was probably over complaining."
Jimmy had been tasked with training the new bartender for the past few weeks. They were on shift together tonight and while Jimmy had been tending to another patron, he heard from the opposite end of the bar someone complaining about their drink. Excusing himself from his current customer, Jimmy walked on over to where he heard the voice and took over for the new bartender. watching the gentleman hold up the glass to the light, Jimmy looked over at the newbie and shot him a look. "Hey, what seems to be the issue here?" He asked the patron holding up the glass. After taking a moment, he noticed the newbie added six cubes to the relatively small glass. "He's new, I am so sorry. Let me get you a new one, on the house," Jimmy said as he pushed the new guy out of the way and started to prepare the whiskey the correct way.

"What the hell?" Hunter said, taking a double glance at his drink. The dim, amber-lit ambiance of the bar couldn't hide his astonishment. He held the glass up to the light, watching the ice cubes bobbing in the golden liquid. "This should be called water on the rocks because why would you add six ice cubes to it?" He shook his head, amusement evident on his face. "It's just water with a hint of whiskey at this point."

He discovered himself irresistibly drawn to her charm, a feeling he had never fully embraced until now. The evening had taken an unforeseen turn, leaving him surprisingly captivated by her presence. A warm smile adorned his face as he noticed the slight pink hue that graced her cheeks - her reaction was endearing, and he took pride in making her feel good. When she offered to assist him with his home, he chuckled appreciatively and replied, "I might just take you up on that offer," his smile widening.
"You know, it's always good to make time and return home," he suggested, reflecting on the advice he should probably follow himself, as he hadn't been back to Canada in years. "Montreal is beautiful," he began, acknowledging that maybe not every part of town was perfect, but the city itself was worth exploring. "You should visit; it's only a few hours away. Though I must warn you, our hockey team is not at its best moment right now, so don't get too disappointed."
"If you need someone to taste-test them, count me in," he grinned, playfully adding, "And, well, then you'll have to come to Canada with me because I don't think you'll find any nearby." The prospect of experiencing this treat again excited him, as it had been around six years since his last one. "You're putting quite the expectations on my culinary skills," he responded with a chuckle, his cheeks blushing slightly in response to her playful wink.
When she brought up surfing and rollerblading, his eyes lit up with genuine enthusiasm. "Surfing sounds incredible, and rollerblading sounds like a blast! I'd love to try both with you," he exclaimed, genuinely looking forward to the idea.
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 aren't meant to be, does not matter how much you make an effort to make it works out. Surprisingly, this date was so different from the first one, she can't believe they made it this far. Allegra is a true believer in a second chance, if she wasn't a believer in it, maybe this good night won't be happening (despite this need to be an effort from both parties to make it work). He also was very charming, there was something about his confidence that makes him so much more attractive apart from his pretty smile. Pink hues appeared on her cheeks at receiving compliments that she does not know how to take. ❛ Grazie! ❜ A brow arched at his comment. ❛ Really? Well, if you truly want professional help, I could go to your place and make the work done for you. ❜ Perhaps, chatting with him she could take a hint of what is his style and personality. A home should be the personality of each people and very unique.
❛ When I was younger, yes, but I've got too caught up with work but not the way I wish I could. ❜ She admitted with a hint of sadness in her tone. ❛ Montreal? I NEVER been to Canada, but I saw pictures and it's a wonderful place. I always wanted to go and watch a hockey game there, but I ended up watching some of them in NYC, and it's closer to home so. ❜ She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. Now she added Canada to her list of cities to visit.
❛ That's true! Although I never made Cannoli. I can try it out one day. ❜ Allegra was nostalgic now she mentioned her hometown. Due to the rush on a daily basis, she forgets to take a break for herself. She took a sip from her white wine, crossing her legs to the other side under the table, adjusting her posture. ❛ You have to take me to try this Beaver thingy. Why would I want to try their Poutine if I can try it with the master of it, yourself… ❜ She winks at him flirty and playfully as a small smile appeared on her cheeks.
Okay, he seems down to her crazy 'adventurous' it makes him even more attractive than before. ❛ How do you feel about surfing? I do surf, maybe we can try this any day if you are up to it. Or rollerblade. I did ice skating but my forte is rollerblading. ❜

While Levi enjoyed his snack, Hunter watched him with a grin, admiring his foresight in planning. "Impressive, you're really prepared," he remarked, feeling a tad regretful about only bringing a 6-pack of beer, which seemed insufficient in comparison. He chuckled at his own oversight and said, "No worries, though; it works out perfectly because I forgot to bring sunscreen." The weather app had warned about clouds, but to their delight, the day turned out sunny and ideal for their beach trip.
location: beach front status: open ( @capemaystarters )
it was a nice day so levi figured it would be a good idea to head to the beach before the cooler seasons arrived. eating bits of his snack he looked to the other and smiled, "alright i got the sandwiches made and i have some chips, if you want to add anything else into the bag now's your chance. i have drinks in the cooler from sodas, to juice, to some alcoholic beverages for later if anything, so if you also want to add more again now's your chance. i need to stop by the gas station to get some ice for the cooler though but we should be about ready to go."

"Yeah, you can't really force things to work out," he mused, drawing from personal experience. Despite his efforts to make his engagement work, it simply wasn't meant to be. Ironically, this date seemed to be heading in the opposite direction of their first meeting. Hunter found himself genuinely impressed by Allegra's diverse career paths. She possessed the looks to be a model and actress, yet she also had the intellect to excel as an architect—an impressive combination. "That's quite remarkable," he complimented her with a smile. "Funny you mention that because my house is an absolute mess. I haven't done much besides adding the basic furniture. Interior design isn't exactly my forte, to say the least."
"Do you visit often?" he asked, making a mental note to include Italy in his list of places to visit. "I moved from Montreal to attend university here when I was 18, but then I lived abroad for four years. I've been back for two years now."
He chuckled when Allegra expressed surprise at the popularity of Tiramisu. "I thought many would like it too. But hey, if not Tiramisu, then there are always cannoli." The mention of BeaverTails brought about a laugh as well. "Don't worry, no beavers are harmed in the making of those pastries. They're quite delicious, actually. And while it might not be the absolute best poutine, it's pretty darn good."
"I'm all for adventures as well, though maybe not the jumping-out-of-a-plane kind. Scuba diving and hiking are more my speed as well. I've never tried rollerblading, but I can ice skate, so I'm sure I'd manage," he said with a grin. "And I couldn't agree more; after a long day at work, all I want to do is unwind and relax."
𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 having a good time, laughing and she took a sip of her drink to wet her mouth and also a little nervous if she was talking way too much, but Hunter does not seem bored. ❛ It's okay. Sometimes things are not meant to be. ❜ She admitted. ❛ That's true! ❜ She giggled letting her dimples appear on her cheeks, before going on to answer his question… He seemed to be interested in her. ❛ I am an architect and model, and occasionally an actress. Recently I got a call to audition for a movie. But if you ever want a renovation somewhere in your place, you can count on me.❜ She didn't think her work was interesting.
❛ Oh no. I mean some parts yes. My parents live between NYC and Milan. My old brothers live in NYC. I moved here to the US when I was 15 years old. And you? How long are you here? ❜ She examined the menu, in doubt about what to pick, and called the waiter to refill her glass. ❛ Really? Not many people I know like it. Sure, anytime. ❜ Some of her friends (the majority of them) aren't fond of Tiramisù. The idea of him trying her pasta sounds like a good idea… She genuinely loves seeing the happiness on the face of people when taste her goodies. ❛ BeaverTails?! The name is scary! What is it? Maybe one day I could try your Poutine. ❜
Upon hearing what he likes to do, he seems the 'quieter' type. ❛ I do love to travel too, and thanks to my job I have the opportunity to do it so. But I like adventures, like hiking, rollerblading, scuba diving anything. I love action. ❜ She says already daydreaming in do any of these activities. ❛ Just like you my schedule are very hectic but I try to do this kind of activity that doesn't need to practice with a group of people y'know? You can do it on your own pace alone. ❜

full name: hunter mcgill
gender & pronouns: cis man, he/him
place of birth: montreal, canada
age & birthday: 40, june 3rd, 1983
area of residence: sun retreat
occupation: plastic surgeon
summary.
growing up in a modest montreal neighborhood, hunter mcgill defied limited expectations with an unmatched intellect and mischievous spirit, offering him the choice to become either his family's shining prodigy or its unconventional outlier. his yearning to escape a turbulent family situation led to academic excellence and a prestigious scholarship to princeton university. after graduation, he left a stable job on wall street to volunteer for the united nations in guatemala, where he discovered the need for plastic surgeons and decided to pursue a medical career. amidst a blossoming love story, an opportunity with doctors without borders forced him to choose between his passion for helping others and his personal life. embarking on a four-year journey to different corners of the world, he made a lasting impact before settling as a plastic surgeon in cape may, yet always yearning to venture abroad once more.
background.
trigger warning: alcoholism
growing up in a modest montreal neighborhood, where limited expectations prevailed, could have easily led hunter mcgill to accept the few opportunities life presented him. he appeared destined for an ordinary existence, but hidden within this young boy was an unmatched intellect and a mischievous spirit, offering him the choice to either become the family's shining prodigy or its unconventional outlier.
his yearning to escape the life he knew became his way of coping with the turbulent instability of his family situation, characterized by a hardworking mother juggling two jobs and an often absent alcoholic father. uncertainty wrapped itself around his high school experience, but it also provided the stage for him to finally put his intellect to good use.
as an exceptional student, hunter earned an esteemed scholarship to a prestigious academy, where he not only excelled academically but also emerged as a leader, captaining both the swimming and soccer teams. despite his academic pursuits, he remained grounded, dedicating every afternoon to work at a supermarket, diligently saving money with the hope of funding his university education.
with a gradual yet determined shift in his life's trajectory, the young man's fortune took a definitive turn for the better when an acceptance letter arrived. the enticing offers from other universities paled in comparison to the words that greeted him: "dear hunter: congratulations! it is with great pleasure that i offer you admission to the class of 2001 at princeton university."
while his mother and siblings celebrated the news with joy, his father's response was less enthusiastic. he retorted dryly, "princeton? people like us don't go to those fancy schools." undeterred, the young man packed his life's belongings into two bags, bidding farewell to canada as he set his sights on new jersey.
at twenty-two, freshly graduated from college, he found himself engulfed in the anonymity of the bustling city, where countless workers commuted daily from high-rise apartments to towering glass office buildings. armed with an economics degree, he ventured to new york and secured a position at an investment management firm. however, it didn't take long for him to realize that wall street wasn't the right fit for him. fueled by a desire for meaningful experiences, he took a brave step and left behind a stable and profitable job to volunteer for the united nations.
his journey led him to guatemala, where he spent nearly a year and discovered the dire lack of plastic surgeons available to assist trauma and congenital deformity victims. this profound realization prompted a life-changing decision, and he made up his mind seemingly overnight to pursue a medical career, setting his sights on attending med school in palo alto.
during his residency, he unexpectedly encountered a woman who swiftly captured his heart, and they began dating. this relationship proved to be unlike any he had experienced before, as his focus had always been dedicated to his professional life, leaving little room for lasting connections. despite sensing potential challenges from the outset, his youthful optimism and love blinded him to the red flags, and he eventually proposed to her. as the wedding approached, however, doubts clouded his thoughts, and anxiety grew within him.
in the midst of this emotional turmoil, a significant opportunity arose just a day before they were to finalize their wedding venue. he received an intriguing proposal to embark on a two-year journey with doctors without borders, allowing him to fulfill his true calling—the reason he had initially chosen to become a doctor. this decision posed a profound dilemma, as he had inadvertently neglected his personal life while pursuing his career ambitions. the stakes were higher now; this wasn't merely a random fling but his fiancée, someone he deeply cared for and loved. the gravity of the choice before him weighed heavily on his heart.
everything was set for the big day – invitations sent, her dress undergoing final alterations, and the perfect venue chosen. the anticipation was building, promising a wonderfully sappy celebration. but fate had other plans when gaza came calling. an urgent need for a plastic surgeon altered everything. instead of walking down the aisle, he hastily booked a one-way trip to tel aviv, from where he would venture into gaza. unable to face the heartbreak of breaking the news to his fiancée, he left her a heartfelt letter, and that was the last communication she received from him.
over the course of four intense years, hunter's journey took him to various corners of the world – jordan, ukraine, and zimbabwe. the experiences etched into his soul, leaving a lasting impact. despite lingering remorse for how he left his fiancée, he holds no regrets for the life-changing path he chose. recently, he returned to his homeland for his father's funeral, and as he was supposed to head to serbia, a former colleague extended an intriguing invitation – to take part in a pilot study in new jersey.
embracing the tranquil charm of cape may, hunter now leads a stable career at a hospital, primarily performing cosmetic surgeries. however, his heart is set on venturing abroad once the study is completed.
wanted connections.
ex-fiancée: i'm gonna post a wanted connection but overall, hunter and her were engaged and just days from getting married when he decided to take a job offer abroad and pretty much left her with nothing but a letter explaining his reasons.
work related: hunter is a plastic surgeon at the local hospital, he's currently working mostly on cosmetic surgeries (which he's not a fan of it). anyway, so this could be other doctors, nurses or patients.
drinking buddies: they call each other when they want to have a good time. while they are friends, they mostly hang out to get drunk and rarely talk about feelings or their problems. it’s an easy going friendship, hunter enjoys spending time with your muse.
fwb: maybe your muse is slowly becoming someone he trusts outside of the bedroom but it all started as a no strings attached relationship.
you've got mail: maybe they matched on tinder but they really haven’t met each other for whatever reason but they speak often online, it could also not be on tinder and idk maybe it’s an anon things like text to wrong number idk.
enemies: personalities clash all the time and it’s especially true with these two. after all, hunter can be self-righteous and arrogant at times. It’s not that they’re enemies or rivals; they simply don’t like each other.
