okay i’m pretty convinced that the reason why so much of this hellsite supports he/him and nb lesbians is bc they don’t want to be seen as lesbophobic, even though I swear the same people make call 99% of lesbians terfs, but I digress.

so, here’s your local lesbian to say that it definitely isn’t lesbophobic to say that lesbians cannot be “non-binary” and cannot use he/him!!

women use she/her, aka female pronouns. pronouns exist to replace names and in humans they imply gender. women use she/her and men use he/him. that’s just basic knowledge of the English language.

people who identify as non-binary claim to not be a man or a woman. i’m fairly neutral on non-binary existing, and if you’re dysphoric then sure i’ll use they/them for you. anyway that’s for a different post. as established above, lesbians are women. so by literal definition, non-binary people cannot be lesbians.

now there’s people who pull the “female-aligned” bs. if non-binary is something that does exist, there’s no way it could be “binary-alligned”. sex dysphoria is based off of brain structure and the way brains are sexed. sex isn’t “alligned” it just is. so, it’s impossible to have a “non-binary female aligned brain”. that’s literally just having a normal, healthy female brain.

they also say that lesbians have a complicated relationship to gender, so we often identify as nb or use he/him to cope. and that’s true, we do have a complicated relationship with gender. hell i’m a butch lesbian and i was so disconnected from being female/a woman that I identified as a trans man for three years, as well as non-binary for a couple months. but this disconnection and gender non-conformity doesn’t make me a man, nor does it make me non-binary. to say women who are gender non-conforming are actually some weird special tumblr gender is incredibly misogynistic and lesbophobic. 

so, take it from this ex non-binary he/him lesbian that it absolutely isn’t lesbophobic to say that lesbians can’t be non-binary + use he/him and that it is lesbophobic to insist we can.
