Piodão, Portugal pt2
“While wandering around the Serra do Açor hills, we are not only charmed by the majesty and purity of the landscape, but we are also overcome with curiosity and impatience. Piódão stubbornly remains hidden so that it can then astound us with its architecture, which is such a good example of Man’s ability to adapt harmoniously to the most inhospitable but sublime places. Like a crib, the houses stand along the terraces of the slopes, which show blue and schist between narrow winding streets. At each corner they hide the history of the village of Piódão.”

People Power pt2
In 2011 the crisis hit the Portuguese soil. Like many other countries, there were manifestations on the streets, some of them the biggest since the end of the dictatorship. I decided to take part using my photography documenting what I would identify with the most, but no, there is no gritty photos of violence and clashes in the streets of Lisbon. Portuguese have this “proactive unreactive” way of claiming what is there’s. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe in violence has a vehicle for resolution by all means, but… it takes more to shake this financial world order. However the game is well set up, confusing us all on which threat of the spider web we should pull first to find a way out.

Varanasi, India pt7
Varanasi (also known by Benaras) is bathed by the river Ganges which is believed to wash away the sins of the mortals, it is believed the river has its source in Shiva’s footprints. Along the river there are various ghats that have different meanings and purposes, some are for bathing, other for cremation, and other are even used to wash their buffalo. Hindus believe that one who dies in the land of Varanasi will attain salvation from the cycle of birth and re-birth.
“Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together” Mark Twain.
