So think of this;

The Syndicate (and I mean the twins, Killbane, and Matty) get Loren signed up for Life Alert as a joke for his birthday, mostly to tease them about his age. Loren, to humor them, decides to keep it around with him. 

Then one day he’s walking to go do whatever it is Belgians do, and he trips and falls down the last few stairs. He goes to get up and realizes that he literally can’t get up, and the twins are no where to be found. He then looks at the Life Alert button thing lying on the ground next to him and he realizes “Holy fuck they predicted the damn future…”

Then he has to listen to the others tease him about what had happened.
